1. The “Hoegh Giant,” India’s first FSRU, arrived at Jaigarh Terminal in Maharashtra.
◉ Höegh Giant, India’s first Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), which sailed from Singapore’s Keppel Shipyard, has landed at H-Jaigarh Energy’s Terminal in Maharashtra, where it will be chartered for ten years.
◉ This will be the first year-round LNG terminal in Maharashtra, and it will be located at JSW Jaigarh Port in the Ratnagiri area. The Jaigarh port is Maharashtra’s first deepwater, private port that is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
2. The ‘Modernisation Plan-IV for Central Armed Police Forces’ (CAPFs) scheme was authorized by the Centre.
◉ In continuation of the program “Modernisation Plan-III for CAPFs,” the government has authorized the Modernisation Plan-IV for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). It will run from February 1, 2022, through March 31, 2026.
◉ Under the guidance of Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, the Ministry of Home Affairs will implement Modernisation Plan-IV for CAPFs, which will equip the CAPFs with modern state-of-the-art weapons and equipment as per their operational requirements, keeping in mind their deployment pattern in different theatres.
3. Rajasthan announced a Rs 10 crore allocation for a “Camel Protection and Development Policy.”
◉ In its budget for 2022-23, the Rajasthan state government proposed a “Camel Protection and Development Policy.”
◉ According to government estimates, Rajasthan has less than two lakh camels left, and the total number of camels in the country has decreased by 1.5 lakh since 2012. When camels were counted last in 2019, there was roughly 2.5 lakh left.

10. Aman Lekhi, India’s Additional Solicitor General, has resigned.
◉ Senior Advocate Aman Lekhi has resigned as the Supreme Court’s Additional Solicitor General (ASG) with immediate effect on March 4, 2022.
◉ His resignation has yet to be explained. He was named ASG in March 2018 and was re-appointed on July 1, 2020, for a three-year term ending June 30, 2023.
◉ The law officer of India, the Additional Solicitor General of India (ASG), is the Government of India’s third-ranking lawyer.

13. Shane Warne, an Australian cricket icon, died at the age of 52.
◉ Shane Warne, an Australian spin hero, died of a suspected heart attack at the age of 52.

14. General S F Rodrigues, former Governor of Punjab and Chief of the Indian Army, has died.
◉ General Sunith Francis Rodrigues, the Indian Army’s Chief of Staff from 1990 to 1993, has died at the age of 88. From 2004 to 2010, he served as the Governor of Punjab.
◉ He had served on the National Security Advisory Board for two terms. He has been involved in social and literary activities since his retirement, as well as giving several presentations on strategic themes.
15. Rod Marsh, a former Australian cricketer, has died.
◉ Rodney William Marsh, a former Australian cricketer (wicketkeeper), died in Adelaide, Australia.
◉ Rod Marsh represented Australia in 96 test matches and 92 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) between 1970 and 1984 before retiring from top-flight cricket in February 1984.
