1. Haryana’s Chief Minister presented a budget of Rs 1.77 lakh crores for the fiscal year 2022-23 and launched the ‘Sushma Swaraj Award’ for women.
◉ While presenting the state budget, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced a ‘Sushma Swaraj Award’ for women who have made important contributions in various fields in the international and national realms.
◉ The Sushma Swaraj Award will come with a monetary prize of Rs 5 lakh as well as recognition. For the fiscal year 2022-23, the Haryana government presented a budget of Rs 1.77 lakh crore.
2. Bodh Gaya is home to the world’s largest reclining Buddha statue.
◉ The statue, which will be 100 feet long and 30 feet tall, will be built by Buddha International Welfare Mission. The statue depicts Lord Buddha in a sleeping position.
◉ The huge statue’s construction began in the year 2019. It’s constructed of fiberglass and sculpted by Kolkata-based artisans. Bodh Gaya is a major Buddhist pilgrimage destination that attracts pilgrims from all over the world.

3. India, Bangladesh, and Nepal have signed a memorandum of understanding to improve commerce and connectivity.
◉ The long-awaited Bangladesh-Bhutan-India-Nepal (BBIN) Motor Vehicles Agreement was finally signed by India, Bangladesh, and Nepal (MVA).
◉ Its goal is to improve regional trade and connectivity. At a meeting held in New Delhi on March 7-8, the enabling MoU that would be signed by India, Bangladesh, and Nepal to execute the BBIN MVA was finalized. Bhutan was present as an observer during the meeting.
4. India and Singapore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Science, Technology, and Innovation collaboration.
◉ An MoU on cooperation in the sectors of science, technology, and innovation was signed by the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Government of Singapore.
◉ The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the inaugural India-Singapore Technology Summit 2022. This Memorandum will be in effect for a period of 5 years and will be automatically renewed for another 5 years.

5. After the Central Government extended the programme until March 31, 2024 w.e.f. October 1, 2021, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced new norms on the ‘Interest Equalisation Scheme (IES) on Pre and Post Shipment Rupee Export Credit-Extension’.
◉ The expanded scheme will not apply to anyone who receives benefits under any of the Central Government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes.
6. The initiative ‘HouseWorkIsWork’ is launched by Axis Bank.
◉ The ‘HouseWorkIsWork’ project, created by Axis Bank, gives opportunities for those who desire to return to work. ‘HouseWorkIsWork,’ the bank’s new hiring effort, was discussed in an interview.

7. Voices UPI digital payments for feature phone customers are now available via ToneTag.
◉ ToneTag has announced the introduction of its “VoiceSe UPI payments service” for feature phone customers, in collaboration with NSDL Payments Bank and NPCI. This comes after the Reserve Bank of India established the UPI 123Pay facility, which allows feature phone users to make UPI payments.
◉ ToneTag is a Bengaluru, Karnataka-based sound-based proximity communication and payments, service provider. Phone users can utilize the IVRS number 6366 200 200 to access the “VoiceSe UPI payments service.”

10. GM S L Narayanan of India won the Grandiscacchi Cattolica International Open Chess Tournament in Italy.
