1. In the Skoch State of Governance ranking 2021, Andhra Pradesh remained first.
◉ In the SKOCH State of Governance rankings for 2021, Andhra Pradesh has maintained its top position. According to a press statement, the State has retained first place for the second year in a row.
◉ West Bengal was placed second, followed by Odisha at number three, Gujarat at number four, and Maharashtra at number five. Telangana, a neighbouring state, was placed sixth.
2. In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Shivraj Chouhan launched the first drone school.
◉ The first drone school in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, was opened by Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
◉ Madhya Pradesh was also the first state in the country to organise a drone meta in Gwalior in December last year, making it the first state in the country to advance the usage of drone technology on a large scale.
3. For tea workers, the Tripura government announced the “Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa” scheme.
◉ The Tripura government has created a unique scheme called ‘Mukhyamantri Chaa Srami Kalyan Prakalpa,’ with a budget of Rs. 85 crores to implement it, with the goal of bringing 7000 tea garden workers into the social security net.
◉ Women make up over 75 percent of the 7000 tea garden employees, who produce nearly 90 lakh kilos of tea across the state’s 54 tea estates and 21 tea processing companies. The North, Sepahijala, Unakoti, and West Tripura districts produce the majority of the tea.

4. Ukraine receives $1.4 billion in emergency aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
◉ The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has granted $1.4 billion in emergency funding for Ukraine to cover costs and improve the country’s balance of payments. Since the Russian offensive began on February 24, Ukraine has relied on assistance from friends and international organizations to support its economy.
◉ The IMF’s Rapid Funding Instrument (RFI) disbursements, which are equivalent to half of Ukraine’s IMF quota, will help satisfy acute spending demands in the short term while also ◉ catalyzing financing from other sources.
5. India is ranked 93rd in V-Democracy Dem’s Report 2022; Sweden is ranked first.
◉ According to research published by the V-Dem (Varieties of Democracy) Institute in Sweden titled “Democracy Report 2022: Autocratisation Changing Nature,” India is among the top ten autocratic countries in the world, ranking 93rd out of 179 countries on the Liberal Democracy Index (LDI).
◉ India is one of the top 10 ‘autocratisers’ in the world, indicating that it is more appropriately referred to as an electoral autocracy rather than a democracy.

6. Bharat Co-operative Bank and Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance have formed a bancassurance relationship.
◉ Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Ltd. and Aditya Birla Sun Life Insurance (ABSLI), the life insurance arm of Aditya Birla Capital Limited (ABCL), have established bancassurance cooperation.
◉ This partnership creates a unified platform for the bank’s five lakh+ customers to receive relevant life insurance products. The deal would provide life insurance assistance to the bank’s more than 5 lakh customers.
7. India and the World Bank announced a $125 million credit arrangement for social protection services in West Bengal.
◉ The Indian government, the West Bengal government, and the World Bank have agreed to a $125 million IBRD loan to support initiatives in West Bengal to help poor and vulnerable populations access social protection programs.
◉ Under the umbrella platform Jai Bangla, the World Bank manages over 400 projects in the areas of social assistance, health care, and employment.
8. Under the RBI Act, NaBFID would be regulated as an All India Financial Institution.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared that under Sections 45L and 45N of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Act, 1934, the National Bank for Financing Infrastructure and Development (NaBFID) will be regulated and monitored as an All India Financial Institution (AIFI).
◉ After the Export-Import Bank, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), the National Housing Bank (NHB), and the Small Industries Development Bank of India, it will be the fifth AIFI (SIDBI).

9. SEBI has selected Ashwani Bhatia as a full-time member.
◉ The cabinet has named Ashwani Bhatia, managing director of the State Bank of India (SBI), to the Securities and Exchange Board of India as a whole-time member (WTM) (SEBI).
◉ Ashwani Bhatia’s appointment as a full-time member of SEBI for three years from the date of his assumption of command has been accepted by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

◉ Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited has named Prabha Narasimhan as its new CEO and MD. She took over for Ram Raghavan, who was elevated to Colgate Palmolive Company’s President, Enterprise Oral Care.
