1. Kerala ranked first in India for maternal and child health, with an MMR of 30.
◉ Kerala has once again risen to the top in terms of maternal and child health, with the lowest Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR) in the country of 30 (per one lakh live births).
◉ India’s maternal mortality ratio (MMR) improved to 103 in 2017-19, according to the latest data. The number of maternal fatalities per 100,000 live births is known as the Maternal Mortality Ratio (MMR).
2. Mumbai became the first city in South Asia to set a goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
◉ Mumbai, Maharashtra, revealed a detailed plan to “zero out carbon emissions by 2050,” making it the first metropolis in South Asia to do so.
◉ Mumbai’s goal is to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070, which is 20 years ahead of India’s goal. Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions must be reduced by 30% by 2030 and 44% by 2040, according to the targets.
3. Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti (AVB), India’s first “World Peace Center,” would be erected in Gurugram, Haryana.

4. The Adani Group has agreed to build two power plants in Sri Lanka.
◉ The Adani Group of India and Sri Lanka have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for two big power projects in the Northern Province. At a cost of $ 500 million, the project seeks to generate a total capacity of 500 MW.
◉ The renewable energy projects will be implemented in two Sri Lankan locations: Mannar on the northwestern coast and Pooneryn on the south coast of the Jaffna Peninsula.

◉ BNP Paribas Asset Management India, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas Asset Management Asia (BNPP AM), and Baroda Asset Management India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bank of Baroda (BoB), have formed a strategic partnership by merging their mutual fund businesses to form the “Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund.”
◉ This merger has no cash consideration, and after the merger, BoB will own 50.1 percent of the merged Asset Management Company(AMC), while BNPP AM would own the balance.
7. The industry’s first digital-based onboarding service was launched by Ujjivan Small Finance Bank.
◉ Through its ‘Ujjivan SFB Assisted’ app, Ujjivan Small Finance Bank launched the industry’s first digital onboarding service for its micro banking customers.

10. SSLV’s solid-fuel-based booster stage was successfully tested by ISRO.
◉ The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has successfully completed the ground test of its new Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLVsolid )’s fuel-based booster stage (SS1) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh.
◉ It completes the ground testing of the launch vehicle’s three stages. The vehicle is currently ready for its first test flight, which will take place in May 2022. Other phases of SSLV, such as SS2 and SS3, have passed their ground testing and are ready for integration.
