1. MV The Ram Prasad Bismil became the world’s longest vessel to sail from the Ganga to the Brahmaputra River via Bangladesh.
◉ By sailing the Motor Vessel Ram Prasad Bismil, the longest vessel ever to cruise on the Brahmaputra, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has made history.
◉ The vessel is 90 meters long, 26 meters broad, and has a draught of 2.1 meters when loaded. With this, it completed the long-awaited pilot run of heavy freight transport from Kolkata’s Haldia Dock to Guwahati’s Pandu Port.
2. In the Lok Sabha, Nirmala Sitharaman proposed a Rs 1.42 lakh crore budget for J&K for FY 2022-23.
◉ Union Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir with a budget of Rs 14215009.87 crore (1.422 lakh crores) in the Lok Sabha in New Delhi.
◉ In the fiscal year 2022-23, the J&K government would spend Rs 112950 crore, with revenue expenditures of Rs 71615 crore and capital expenditures of Rs 41335 crore (22 percent of GSDP).
3. New Delhi will host the 36th International Geological Congress.
◉ The 36th International Geological Congress (IGC) will take place virtually between March 20th and 22nd, 2022. It’s also known as the Geosciences Olympics.

4. In Madagascar, the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Green Triangle’ has been unveiled.
◉ To commemorate Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Madagascar presented the Mahatma Gandhi Green Triangle. Abhay Kumar, the Indian Ambassador to Madagascar, and Mayor of Antananarivo Naina Andriantsitohaina jointly inaugurated a Green Triangle to commemorate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

5. IIT Madras has inked a memorandum of understanding with the RBI Innovation Hub to help fintech firms.
◉ IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC), India’s foremost deep-tech startup hub, has partnered with RBI Innovation Hub (RBIH) to establish the environment needed to nurture and scale fintech firms in the country.

6. CPI-based In February, retail inflation climbed to 6.07 percent, exceeding the RBI’s upper target for the second month in a row.
