1. India and the World Health Organization have agreed to establish a global traditional medicine center in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
◉ The World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Ayush (MoA) of the Government of India have signed an agreement to establish the Global Centre for Traditional Medicine (WHO-GCTM) in Jamnagar, Gujarat.
◉ The GCTM received a $250 million investment from the Indian government. It will allow people from all around the world to receive safe and effective therapy.
2. The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has been extended for a further six months.
◉ The Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PM-GKAY) has been extended by the Centre for another six months, from April to September 2022.
◉ In the sixth phase, each beneficiary will receive an additional five kilograms of free ration each month in addition to their standard food grain quota. This means that each poor household would get about twice as much money as usual.
3. SIDBI partnered with Meghalaya to grow the MSME ecosystem.
◉ The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has inked an agreement with the Government of Meghalaya’s Meghalaya Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation Limited (MiDFC).
◉ SIDBI and the Government of Meghalaya will collaborate to support the growth of the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ecosystem in Meghalaya under the terms of the MoU.

4. Sri Lankan Prime Minister Shri Narendra Mod will attend the 5th BIMSTEC Summit on March 30, 2022, which will be hosted by Sri Lanka.

6. NARCL received a Rs 108.81 crore investment from the Bank of India.
◉ Under the preferential share offer, the Bank of India (BoI) has invested roughly Rs 108.81 crore in National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL).
◉ Following this, BoI’s ownership in NARCL will increase to 9% on March 21, 2022. NARCL is a government-backed asset reconstruction firm that was founded in July 2021.

◉ Shashi Sinha, CEO of IPG Mediabrands India, has been elected as the next chairman of the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India.
◉ Punit Goenka, who has served as chairman of the TV audience measuring agency for the past three years, will step down. Sinha, who is also a board member of the Advertising Agencies Association of India, was instrumental in the founding of BARC.

◉ Emeritus Professor The Stockholm Water Prize Laureate for 2022 is Wilfried Brutsaert. He was recognized for his pioneering work in calculating environmental evaporation.
Wilfried Brutsaert is an Emeritus Professor of Engineering at Cornell University in the United States.
◉ His groundbreaking work on evaporation and hydrology will have long-term theoretical and practical implications, especially in light of climate change. Wilfried Brutsaert has also pioneered unique ways to understand groundwater storage fluctuations.
10. Will Smith and Jessica Chastain won Best Actor and Best Actress at the 94th Academy Awards in 2022.
◉ For the first time since the pandemic began, the 94th Academy Awards were held fully in person on March 27 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

11. PV Sindhu won the Swiss Open Badminton 2022 Women’s Singles title.
◉ PV Sindhu won the Swiss Open Super 300 badminton competition after defeating Thailand’s Busanan Ongbamrungpha in the women’s singles final.
◉ This is her season’s second women’s singles title. In the Syed Modi International Super 300 in Lucknow, she earned her maiden title of 2022. Sindhu has defeated Busanan 16 times in 17 tournaments. She is the first and only Indian to win the World Championship in Badminton.
12. The SAFF U-18 Women’s Championship was won by India in 2022.
◉ The South Asian Football Federation U-18 Women’s Football Championship 2022 was won by an Indian team at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand.
◉ India lost 0-1 versus Bangladesh but still won the tournament because of their better goal difference of +11 to Bangladesh’s +3.
