1. The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has struck an agreement with the UNDP to help localize the Sustainable Development Goals.
◉ The Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to engage in the areas of information sharing and strengthening monitoring mechanisms for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in India (SDGs).
◉ On the penultimate day of the Iconic Week Programme organized as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM) celebrations, Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj Sunil Kumar and UNDP resident representative Shoko Noda signed the MoU.
2. Karnataka started the SAANS (Social Awareness and Action to Successfully Neutralize Pneumonia) campaign.
◉ Sudhakar, Karnataka’s Minister of Health and Medical Education, inaugurated the ‘Social Awareness and Action to Successfully Neutralize Pneumonia’ campaign (SAANS).
◉ SAANS is a public awareness campaign that aims to increase early identification and awareness of pneumonia in children under the age of five.

◉ Prasar Bharati has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Argentina’s public broadcaster, Radio Television Argentina (RTA), to collaborate in the field of broadcasting.

4. In the UAE, BHIM UPI is now available at NEOPAY terminals.
◉ NPCI International Payments Ltd (NIPL), the international branch of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), has announced that BHIM UPI (Bharat Interface for Money-Unified Payments Interface) is now available at NEOPAY terminals in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
◉ This effort would allow Indian tourists to use BHIM UPI, which has become the preferred method of payment for Indian citizens, to pay at NEOPAY terminals. In 2021, NIPL and NEOPAY teamed up to create the UAE’s acceptance infrastructure.
5. Guadalajara has been designated as the World Book Capital for 2022 by UNESCO.
◉ On the advice of the World Book Capital Advisory Committee, Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, nominated Guadalajara, Mexico, as the World Book Capital for the year 2022.
◉ The city was chosen for its comprehensive strategy for policies around the book to stimulate social change, prevent violence, and develop a culture of peace, which has been a UNESCO Creative City since 2017.

6. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) rules to major borrowers of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) and Primary (Urban) Co-operative Banks (UCBs).
◉ Non-individual borrowers with aggregate exposure of $5 crores or more from banks and financial institutions (FIs) are also needed to obtain LEI numbers within the stated deadline, according to the RBI.
7. SIDBI has given Maharashtra an in-principle approval for a 600-crore loan to revive ITIs and polytechnics.
◉ The Maharashtra government has received the first approval from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) under the SIDBI Cluster Development Fund (SCDF).
◉ The 600 crore funding has been approved for the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, which is part of the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, to revive/upgrade ITIs/polytechnics.

12. OneWeb and New Space India Limited have signed a deal for satellite launches.
◉ OneWeb and New Space India Limited (NSIL), a commercial branch of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), have signed a deal to finish OneWeb’s satellite launch program.
◉ The agreement was reached on NSIL and Oneweb’s mutual interest in creating the Satellite Constellation Network, which would provide industry-grade secure Internet connectivity.
13. Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre (NRLDC) of Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO) and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi inked an MoU to foster research and development on issues pertaining to India’s power sector and increase cooperation between academia and industry.
