1. The first Flow Chemistry Technology Hub in India is located in Hyderabad
◉ Telangana’s government is working with pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS) in Hyderabad, Telangana, has established India’s first-of-its-kind Flow Chemistry Technology Hub (FCT Hub) in collaboration with academia.
◉ The hub will aid pharmaceutical R&D and the implementation of continuous synthesis for the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
2. Odisha will host India’s first tribal health observatory.
◉ Odisha’s government has established India’s first Tribal Health Observatory (TriHOb), which serves as a repository for information on the state’s tribal population’s health. It will be the only tribal health observatory in India.
◉ The ST and SC Development Department and the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar, Odisha, a regional center of the Indian Council of Medical Research, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
3. Rajasthan became the first solar-powered state with a capacity of 10 GW.
◉ Rajasthan became the first state in India to exceed 10 GW of cumulative large-scale solar installations, according to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker.
◉ The state has a total installed power capacity of 32.5 GW, with renewables accounting for 55%, thermal energy 43%, and nuclear energy 2%.
4. Biren Singh, the Chief Minister of Manipur, has established Direct Benefit Transfer for organic farmers.
◉ For the Mission Organic Value Chain Development for the North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER), Phase-III, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has launched the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for 18,000 enrolled farmers under the Horticulture Department (2020-23).
◉ DBT of Rs. 11,250 per farmer was deposited to the individual registered farmer’s account for the components of assistance for on-farm input for both the first and second years, as well as for off-farm input production for the first year.

5. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), which makes recommendations to the capital markets regulator on increasing market safety, efficiency, and transparency, has revamped its Secondary Market Advisory Committee (SMAC), which is led by Gurumoorthy Mahalingam.
◉ The 18-member advisory board will now be chaired by Gurumoorthy Mahalingam, a former full-time member of SEBI. The previous panel, which was led by SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, had 17 members.

◉ Sumantran had a 37-year career spanning the United States, Europe, and Asia as a corporate leader, technocrat, and academician. Sumantran leads Celeris Technologies, a strategic consulting firm, as managing director and chairperson. He will succeed Meleveetil Damodaran at IndiGo.

7. Cynthia Rosenzweig, a NASA climate researcher, was awarded the World Food Prize 2022.
◉ Cynthia Rosenzweig, a senior research scientist and head of the Climate Impacts Group at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York City, has been awarded the World Food Prize Foundation’s 2022 World Food Prize.
◉ Rosenzweig won the prize for her work on understanding the relationship between climate and food systems and predicting how they may evolve in the future.

8. By December 2024, ISRO plans to launch a mission to Venus.
◉ The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) plans to deploy a spacecraft into orbit around Venus to research what lies beneath its surface, according to ISRO Chairperson S Somnath. ◉ The mission is expected to launch in December 2024, with an orbital manoeuvre planned a year later. The use of propulsion systems to modify a spacecraft’s orbit is known as an orbital manoeuvre. It allows a spacecraft to enter the orbit of a planet.

9. India remained at the top of the ICC T20 Team Rankings for the year 2022.
◉ The Indian cricket team has been ranked as the world’s number one Men’s T20I (Twenty 20 Internationals) side in the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) annual Team Rankings 2022, followed by England and Pakistan.
◉ The ODI (One Day International) rankings see New Zealand at the top, followed by England, Australia, and India.
10. In the Deaflympics 2021, Vedika Sharma won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol.
◉ At the ongoing Deaflympics 2021 in Caxias do Sol, Brazil, Vedika Sharma won bronze in the 10 m air pistol.

12. Tony Brooks, a British Formula One driver, has died.
