1. Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Cabinet Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Communications and Railways, inaugurated the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Centre Leh, Extension Centre Kargil, and IT Enabled Incubation Centre for Handicraft and Handloom Sector in Leh, Ladakh.
◉ He declared after his inauguration that the overturning of Article 370 and the construction of the new UT, among other things, The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will approve any proposal relating to IT Education, Training, and so on.
2. Punjab Cabinet approves a Rs 1,500 per acre incentive for farmers.
◉ Farmers that cultivate paddy utilizing direct seeding rice technology will receive a Rs 1,500 per acre incentive from the Punjab Cabinet. Farmers that promote the DSR (Direct Seeding of Rice) technology, which uses less water and is more cost-effective, would receive a total of Rs 450 crore in incentives. In a meeting chaired by chief minister Bhagwant Mann, the Cabinet approved the incentive scheme.

3. The Assam Rifles have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Axis Bank and NIEDO to develop a Centre of Excellence and Wellness.
◉ The Assam Rifles, Axis Bank, and the National Integrity and Educational Development Organization (NIEDO) have signed a Tripartite MoU to construct a Centre of Excellence and Wellness to ensure a better future for Nagaland’s youth.

4. Air One, the world’s first urban airport pop-up for flying cars and drones, has debuted in the United Kingdom.
◉ In the city of Coventry, England, the Coventry City Council and Urban-Air Port Limited, a UK-based start-up, teamed to create the world’s first urban airport Pop-up ‘Air-One’ for electric drones and flying cars.
◉ The project’s goal is to alleviate traffic congestion and pollution in cities. The airport is powered by hydrogen fuel cells and is designed for zero-emission electric drones and air taxis.
5. The 7th annual meeting of the NDB Board of Governors was led by Nirmala Sitharaman.
◉ Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s Finance Minister and Governor of the New Development Bank (NDB) presided over the NDB’s 7th Annual Meeting of Board of Governors via videoconference in New Delhi.

6. In FY22, public sector bank fraud decreased by 51% to Rs 40,295 crore, according to the RBI.

7. Interglobe Aviation has selected Pieter Elbers as the next CEO of IndiGo, the Dutch subsidiary of Air France-KLM. Pieter Elbers has been named Chief Executive Officer and Whole-Time Director of IndiGo, a low-cost carrier.
◉ His appointment as Chief Executive Officer is slated to take effect on October 1, 2018.
◉ On September 30, 2022, IndiGo CEO Ronojoy Dutta will step down. Elbers has been named as Dutta’s replacement, according to the company’s regulatory filing. In January 2019, Dutta was named CEO of IndiGo.
8. Naveen Srivastava has been named as the new ambassador to Nepal.
