1. Google announced a program called Startup School India.
◉ In order to help 10,000 companies in tier 2 and tier 3 towns grasp the dynamics of entrepreneurship, Google has announced the launch of Startup School India.
◉ Fireside chats between Google leaders and collaborators from across the startup ecosystem will take place during the nine-week program, which will be delivered virtually. Topics covered will include fintech, language, social media and networking, job search, and business-to-business and business-to-consumer e-commerce.
◉ An effective product strategy, product user value, designing apps for the next billion users in markets like India, and user acquisition are just a few of the topics covered in the curriculum’s instructional modules.
2. The inaugural Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture was attended by PM Modi.
◉ The Arun Jaitley Memorial Lecture (AJML) was given for the first time at Vigyan Bhavan in Delhi, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there.

5. India was chosen to serve on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage panel.
◉ For the year 2022–2026, India has been chosen to serve on the Intergovernmental Committee of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage from 2003.
◉ India has participated in the ICH Committee on two separate occasions, from 2014 to 2018 and from 2006 to 2010.
◉ Out of the 155 State Parties who were present and cast ballots, 110 went to India.
Banking
6. Federal Bank and Bank of India were fined by the RBI for breaking regulatory requirements.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) penalized the Bank of India and the Federal Bank for breaking some rules.
◉ According to a statement from the RBI, the central bank fined the public sector lender Bank of India 70 lakh for breaking Know Your Customer (KYC) rules.
◉ Because the private lender did not ensure that no incentive (financial or non-monetary) was given to its workers performing insurance broking/corporate agency services by the insurance business, Federal Bank has been hit with a fine of Rs. 5.72 crores.

8. R Dinesh has been named as the CII’s President Designate for 2022–2023.
◉ R Dinesh, the executive vice-chairman of TVS Supply Chain Solutions, has been chosen as the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) president-designate for the years 2022–2023.
◉ Throughout 2018–19, he served as the CII Southern Region Chairman.
◉ The Vice-President of CII will remain Sanjiv Puri (Chairman & MD of ITC).
9. Gita Gopinath becomes the first woman to appear on a former chief economist of Indian descent’s wall.
◉ Gita Gopinath is the second Indian and the first woman to be listed on the International Monetary Fund’s “wall of former chief economists” (IMF).
◉ Gopinath joined the IMF in October 2018 as Chief Economist before being elevated to First Deputy Managing Director in December. She spent three years as the IMF’s first female chief economist.
10. Appointment of Paritosh Tripathi as CEO and MD of SBI General Insurance
◉ Paritosh Tripathi has been named managing director and CEO of private non-life insurer SBI General Insurance.
◉ He took over for P C Kandpal, who was appointed as the State Bank of India’s Corporate Center’s Deputy Managing Director (DMD)-(P&RE) (SBI).
◉ Tripathi has a wealth and diversity of banking experience spanning over 32 years. He had worked mostly in the MSME and mid-corporate segment in the early half of his banking career, however in the latter half of his career, he had worked primarily in international banking and bancassurance.
11. Amitabh Kant, a former CEO of Niti Aayog, has been named the new G20 Sherpa
◉ Amitabh Kant, a former CEO of NITI Aayog, has been chosen to serve as India’s next G-20 Sherpa.
◉ Piyush Goyal, the Minister for Commerce, Industry, and Consumer Affairs, who was chosen to serve as the G-20 Sherpa in September of last year, will be replaced by Kant.
◉ One of the reasons for the shift is the necessity for a full-time Sherpa for the term of India’s G20 chairmanship, which will run from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.

12. Mohammad Barkindo, the OPEC secretary-general, passed away.
◉ Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo, the secretary-general of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), passed dead.
◉ After six years in the leading position at the OPEC, Barkindo was scheduled to leave at the end of this month.
◉ OPEC was established in 1960 during the Baghdad Conference by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. It is a permanent international organization.
