1. ‘Smart E-Beat’ system for Gurugram police unveiled by Haryana CM
◉ Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, has introduced an app-based system for tracking police presence and real-time patrol activity in Gurugram.
◉ At a ceremony at the police commissioner’s office, the CM unveiled the “Smart E-Beat” system and signalled 119 motorcycle officers to report for duty.
◉ The Smart Policing Initiative (SPI) has implemented an app-based system in Gurugram that will assist these police officers in tracking their attendance and vehicle surveillance.
2. Parshottam Rupala established an NDDB subsidiary for the handling of manure.
◉ The National Dairy Development Board has established NDDB MRIDA Limited as a wholly-owned subsidiary firm under the leadership of Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairy Parshottam Rupala (NDDB).
◉ The purpose of this objective is to provide manure management activities with an organized drive.
◉ On July 1, 2022, NDDB will formally establish NDDB MRIDA Limited (Unlisted Public Limited Company) under the Companies Act, 2013.
3. India provides UNRWA with USD 2.5 million for Palestinian refugees.
◉ India has provided the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East with USD 2.5 million (UNRWA).
◉ India has been a committed supporter of UNRWA since 2018, contributing USD 20 million to help fund the organization’s essential programs for Palestinian refugees throughout the Middle East.
◉ The UNRWA, which was founded in 1949 as a humanitarian organization, is entirely supported by donations and grants from donor nations.
4. In Natore, the foundation stone was set for the eighth hi-tech park.
◉ In Singra Upazila of Natore, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak laid the cornerstone for the “Natore IT/Hi-Tech Park.”
◉ Out of the 12 IT/Hi-Tech parks included in the Indian Line of Credit (LOC) provided to Bangladesh, this one is the eighth.
◉ With financial support totaling USD 193 million provided through an India-offered Line of Credit, IT/Hi-Tech parks are being constructed in 12 districts around Bangladesh.

8. Indermit Gill has been selected as the new World Bank Chief Economist.

◉ The selection of Gill, who will succeed American economist Carmen Reinhart in the position, will take effect on September 1st, 2022.

◉ The director of the movie “Five Easy Pieces” and a co-creator of “The Monkees,” Bob Rafelson, has died.
◉ In 1971, Rafelson received two Oscar nominations for Five Easy Pieces—one for best film and one for best screenplay.
Rafelson and Bert Schneider shared the 1967 Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for co-creating the Monkees and the television show of the same name.
