1. For the NHDC project, Tata Power Solar Systems obtained an LoA of Rs 596 crore.
◉ A letter of award (LoA) for Rs 596 crore from NHDC Limited has been given to Tata Power Solar Systems, a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy, for the establishment of a 125MW floating solar project.
◉ The project will be put into operation within 13 months of the letter of the award date and will supply M.P. Power Management Company Limited with sustainable power.
◉ This project at the Omkareshwar reservoir in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh was advertised for bids earlier this year by NHDC (a joint venture between NHPC Ltd. and the Madhya Pradesh government).
One of the biggest floating solar power installations in India is this one.
2. Telangana will host the first forest university in India.
◉ Telangana has chosen to transform Hyderabad’s Forest College and Research Institute (FCRI) into a complete university.
◉ The University of Forestry (UOF) Act 2022 has been adopted by the Telangana legislative assembly.
◉ The University of Forestry (UOF) will be the nation’s first institution of its sort.
◉ This will be the third forestry university on the globe, with the other two being in China and Russia.
3. Jharkhand joins the Food Security Atlas as the third state.
◉ After Bihar and Odisha in eastern India, Jharkhand is the third state to have a Food Security Atlas for its rural areas.
◉ 2018 saw the debut of Atlas in Odisha and Bihar.
◉ An attempt is being made to map the state’s food security issue with the use of this atlas.
◉ It was created by the Mumbai-based Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research with assistance from the Institute for Human Development (IHD) in Delhi.
4. India and Denmark published a whitepaper jointly titled “Urban Wastewater Scenario in India.”
◉ In conjunction with Denmark, India unveiled a collaborative whitepaper titled “Urban Wastewater Scenario in India” at the World Water Congress and Exhibition in Copenhagen in 2022.
◉ Lea Wermelin, the Danish Environment Minister, and Flemming Mller Mortensen, the Minister for Development Cooperation, all attended the occasion alongside Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
◉ By 2024, India plans to invest more than 140 billion dollars in the water sector.
5. Andhra Pradesh came out on top among states for luring industrial investment.
◉ According to a study by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Andhra Pradesh has led the list of states in attracting industrial investments in the first seven months of 2022, bringing in Rs 40,361 crore (DPIIT).
◉ Together, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha received 45% of the entire investment.
◉ By the end of July 2022, India has received industrial investments of Rs 1,71,285 crore.

6. India invited Bangladesh to attend the G20 as a guest nation.
◉ India will invite Bangladesh to attend the G-20 summit as a guest nation while it holds the presidency.
◉ India has made the decision to invite Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain, and the United Arab ◉ Emirates as Guest Countries, in keeping with the G-20 tradition of inviting select Guest Countries and International Organizations (IO) to its meetings and summit.

7. An expert committee was created by the government.
◉ In order to facilitate scaling up investments by venture capital and private equity investment, the government has established an expert group to investigate and recommend appropriate actions to address regulatory and other challenges.
◉ Former SEBI chairman M Damodaran will serve as the chairperson of the six-person panel.
◉ The committee will make recommendations on ways to speed up investment in startups and emerging industries.
◉ Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman suggested creating an expert group to look into and recommend suitable steps to scale venture capital and private equity investments in India in her Budget address for 2022–2023.

8. India has appointed Prakash Chand as its ambassador to Eritrea.

◉ Chand formerly served as India’s consul general in Bali, Indonesia, in 2019.
◉ From 2010 until 2014, he also held the position of First Secretary (Consular) in the Philippines. Prior to that, from 2008 to 2010, he served in New Delhi as Deputy Chief of Protocol (Conferences/Facilities).

◉ The Royal Australian Air Force held Exercise Pitch Black 22 at its Darwin Air Base. Over 2500 military troops from 17 Air Forces participated in the exercise, which lasted three weeks. Two C-17 aircraft and four Su-30 MKI were part of the IAF contingent.
