1. India’s first avalanche-monitoring radar is delivered to Sikkim.
◉ The Avalanche Monitoring Radar has been installed in North Sikkim in collaboration with the Indian Army and the Defence Geoinformatics and Research Establishment (DGRE).
◉ This radar has a second purpose in addition to avalanche detection: landslide detection.
◉ This radar will help save the lives of soldiers, civilians, and even vehicles in extremely high-altitude regions by detecting avalanches three seconds after they are triggered.
2. In Gangtok, Amit Shah will open the Dairy Cooperative Conclave.
◉ On October 7, 2022, in Gangtok, Sikkim, the Eastern and North-Eastern Zones Dairy Cooperative Conclave will be officially opened by Union Home Affairs and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah.
◉ The National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India will host it (NCDFI).
