1. Asia’s largest compressed biogas facility was officially opened by Hardeep Puri.
◉ The largest Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plant in Asia was opened by the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri in Lehragaga, Sangrur, Punjab.
◉ One of Germany’s top bioenergy firms, Verbio AG, invested over Rs. 220 crores in the plant as a foreign direct investment (FDI).
2. Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana was introduced by PM Modi.
◉ The “One Nation, One Fertilizer” program, also known as the PM Bhartiya Jan Urvarak Pariyojana, was introduced by Prime Minister ◉ Narendra Modi during the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in New Delhi.
◉ The One Nation One Fertilizer program will stop fertilizer from moving in circles and cut back on expensive freight subsidies.
◉ Modi also introduced Indian Edge, an online publication about fertilizers.
3. For the second month in a row, UIDAI led the Grievance Redressal Index.

5. According to a UN estimate, India has helped 415 million people escape poverty.
◉ According to a Multidimensional Poverty Index 2022, there were 415 million fewer people living below the poverty line in India between 2005–06 and 2019–21.
◉ The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and Oxford University jointly released the index.
◉ However, according to the index, with 228.9 million poor people, India continues to have the highest rate in the world, followed by Nigeria (96.7 million projected in 2020).
◉ The analysis showed that 1.2 billion people (19.1 percent) live in severe poverty across 111 countries that were evaluated using the most recent comparable statistics available, and that 593 million of these individuals are children under the age of 18.

◉ The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) has introduced the “LIC Dhan Varsha” program.

◉ Only a single (lumpsum) payment method may be used to pay premiums.

7. As the new Controller General of Accounts, Bharati Das
◉ Bharati Das, an officer from the 1988 batch of the Indian Civil Accounts Service, has been appointed Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
◉ She is the Ministry of Finance’s 27th Controller General of Accounts.
◉ At the Central Board of Direct Taxes, the Ministry of External Affairs, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Das held the position of Principal Chief Controller of Accounts.
◉ After Dipak Dash’s retirement in February 2022, the Center appointed Sonali Singh, Additional Controller General of Accounts, to the position of Controller General of Accounts, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
