1. At Kevadiya, PM Modi began the Mission LIFE movement.
◉ Mission LIFE was introduced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres at Gujarat’s Statue of Unity.
◉ He also took part in the conference for Heads of Mission at Kevadiya.
◉ At Vyara in South Gujarat’s Tapi district, he dedicated and set the cornerstone for 1,970 crores.
2. PMAY (Urban) Awards: MP placed second in the category of “best-performing state.”
◉ In the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban plan, Madhya Pradesh came in second place overall for “Best Performing State.”
◉ Eight categories of the “PMAY Awards-2021: 150 Days Challenge” have given prizes to the state.
◉ Madhya Pradesh shared the special category award for Best State for Convergence with Gujarat, Best State for Conducting Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Activity with Jharkhand and Arunachal Pradesh, and Best Performing State Level Technical Cell with Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat (SLTC).
3. The Goa government launched a platform that will serve as a standard app for the state’s entire taxi business.
◉ The Goa government has revealed plans to develop a mobile application.
◉ By the start of the new year, this new app, called “Goa Taxi,” will be made available in the state (2023).
◉ Taxi drivers will receive 95% of the benefits from the Goa Taxi App, and 5% would be used to establish a pension or welfare fund.
4. MakeMyTrip, Goibibo, and OYO were penalized by CCI by 392 crore rupees.
◉ MakeMyTrip (MMT), Goibibo, and OYO, three online travel agencies, have been fined a combined total of more than 392 crores by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for allegedly engaging in unfair business practices.
◉ For engaging in anti-competitive behavior, the CCI fines MMT-Go and OYO, respectively, 223.48 crores and 168.88 crores, and orders MMT-Go to change its market behavior.
◉ Since 2019, the companies are the subject of an investigation by the Competition Commission of India (CCI) after a hotel association claimed that MakeMyTrip provided the SoftBank-backed Oyo special treatment on its platform.

6. PM Jan Dhan account exceeded Rs 1.75 billion.
◉ According to official statistics, the total balance in the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) basic bank accounts has surpassed the 1.75 trillion rupee threshold.
◉ As of October 5, 2022, the total balance was $1,75,225 while there were 47 crores of beneficiaries.
◉ With 26.16 crore accounts, more women than males are beneficiaries of the scheme, with 31.42 crores of those accounts located in rural and semi-urban areas.
◉ Public sector banks (PSBs) have contributed significantly. PSBs account for 1.35 lakh crore of the total 1.75 lakh crore balance, followed by Regional Rural Banks with 34,573 crores.
7. Four states received a grant of Rs 1,764 billion from the Finance Ministry.
◉ Four States have received funding totaling 1,764 crores from the Ministry of Finance to support urban cities with a population of one million or more.
◉ Of the total, 136 crore rupees, 109 crore rupees, 799 crore rupees, and 720 crore rupees were given to Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, respectively.
◉ Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, Durg Bhilainagar, and Raipur in Chhattisgarh received the grant.

◉ The State of Madhya Pradesh will host the Fifth Khelo India Youth Games in 2022.
