1. PM Modi opened a new strategic air base in Deesa, Gujarat.
◉ In the Banaskantha region in north Gujarat, close to the India-Pakistan border, the prime minister of India, Narendra Modi, lay the cornerstone for a new air base at Deesa.
◉ After it is finished, the air base will close the 355 km strategic gap between Uttarlai and the Air Force station in Bhuj.
◉ The 4,519-acre Deesa air base is a greenfield installation being built in the Banaskantha district.
◉ According to representatives of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the site was purchased in 1983. There are currently only 20 observation towers and a 22-kilometer boundary wall on the campus.
2. Reservations for SC and ST communities were raised by the Karnataka government.
◉ The Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) reservation will be increased in the State via an ordinance that will be promulgated by the Karnataka Cabinet.
◉ A resolution to increase the SC community’s reservation from 15% to 17% and the ST community’s reserve from 3% to 7% has been adopted by the Karnataka cabinet.
◉ However, it will increase the percentage of reservations in Karnataka to 56%, above the Supreme Court-imposed limit of 50%.
3. In Uttarakhand, PM Modi lay a foundation stone worth over Rs 3,400 billion.
◉ In the Mana village of the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened connectivity projects worth 3,400 crores.
◉ Along with road widening projects worth over Rs 1000 crore, he also lay the cornerstone for two ropeway projects: Gaurikund to Kedarnath and Govindghat to Hemkund Sahib.
◉ These initiatives will improve the region of Garhwal’s connectivity and religious tourism.
4. The “Kashi Tamil Sangamam” initiative will be run by the ministry of education.
◉ The goal of the month-long program “Kashi Tamil Sangamam,” which the Ministry of Education will launch on November 16, 2022, is to rekindle the centuries-old intellectual ties and prehistoric cultural connections between Varanasi and Tamil Nadu.
◉ In order to familiarise themselves with the historic knowledge shared by these two cities, around 2400 Tamil individuals representing various societal groups will travel to Kashi.
◉ The program will be run within the parameters of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” plan.

6. Mumbai witnessed the inauguration of India’s first “Migration Monitoring System.”
◉ In Mumbai, Maharashtra, the nation’s first “Migration Monitoring System” was officially launched.
◉ The system aims to rapidly deliver up-to-date data on migrant expectant women, nursing mothers, and kids on a single system.
◉ Mangalprabhat Lodha, the Maharashtra Minister for Women and Child Development, launched the system in Mumbai. It was created by the Department of Women and Child Development.
7. Launch of the Trees Beyond Forests Program in Assam
◉ The “Trees Outside Forests in India (TOFI)” initiative has been initiated by the Assam government and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).
◉ It attempts to unite farmers, businesses, and private institutions to increase the amount of trees in the State’s non-traditional forests.
◉ One of the seven States to receive up to $25 million from the US under the TOFI program is Assam.

8. The DGCA grants the Jeypore Airport in Odisha a license.

15. IAF and HAL agreed to a contract for Rs 6,800 crore for 70 HTT-40 trainer planes.
◉ Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) have agreed on a contract of Rs 6,800 crore for 70 indigenous HTT-40 Basic Trainer Aircraft (BTA).
◉ A total of 451 MoUs, agreements for the transfer of technology (ToT), and product launches were made.
