1. Ranjangaon Electronics Manufacturing Cluster has been approved by the government.
◉ The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has sanctioned the establishment of a greenfield Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Ranjangaon Phase III, Maharashtra, at a cost of 492.85 crores.
◉ EMC at Ranjangaon, Pune, will catalyze investments of over Rs. 2000 crore in the near future, creating over 5,000 jobs.
◉ The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology intends to expand the 1000-crore Semicon India Future Design program to help Semiconductor Design Startups in the state.
2. The Fire and Fury Corps hosted a strategic conclave in Srinagar.
◉ A Strategic Conclave was conducted at Fire and Fury Corps in Srinagar, presided over by Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, GOC-in-C Northern Command, and attended by key Northern Command military personnel.
◉ The colloquium was conducted to examine changing geopolitical dynamics in the world at large and in our immediate vicinity in particular.
It debated on a wide range of subjects at all levels in order to gain holistic knowledge.
3. M. Amritanandamayi has been appointed as the G20 Summit’s Chair of Civil Society.
◉ The union government has named spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) as Chair of the country’s Civil 20 (C20), an official engagement group of the Group of 20 (G20).
◉ The G20 is the world’s premier inter-governmental meeting for established and emerging economies to discuss global financial stability.
◉ The C20 serves as a platform for civil society groups (CSOs) to present non-government and non-business perspectives to G20 officials.
◉ India will hold the G20 Presidency for one year, from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.
4. Meghalaya has struck an agreement with the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for MSME borrowers.
◉ The Meghalaya government has signed an MoU with the Ministry of MSME’s Loans Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGFTMSE) to improve the flow of credit to MSME borrowers.
◉ This Memorandum of Understanding will boost the loan delivery system and facilitate the flow of credit to MSME borrowers.
◉ Currently, MSME loans are protected under CGTMSE against a risk coverage of 75% of the loan amount under various MSME schemes.

7. The Indian Navy took part in a trilateral drill with Mozambique and Tanzania.
◉ The first edition of the India-Mozambique-Tanzania Trilateral Exercise (IMT TRILAT) finished in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, with the Indian Navy represented by the guided missile frigate INS Tarkash, a Chetak helicopter, and MARCOS (Special Forces).

11. India’s steelman Jamshed J Irani has died.
◉ Jamshed J Irani, often known as the Steel Man of India, died recently in Jamshedpur at the age of 86.
◉ Irani worked for Tata Steel for nearly four decades. In June 2011, he stepped down from Tata Steel’s board of directors.
◉ Dr. Irani was also awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Government of India in 2008 in recognition of his contributions to metallurgy.
◉ He managed Tata Steel from the start of India’s economic liberalization in the early 1990s, contributing to the growth and development of the Indian steel sector.
◉ In 2007, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to the industry.
