1. Australia and India had a free trade deal ratified.
◉ The Australian parliament has ratified the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Australia.
◉ For Australia to diversify its exports from the unstable Chinese market to India and to establish new bilateral economic links, the agreements are essential.
◉ On a mutually agreed-upon date, the Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement between India and Australia would now go into effect.

2. RBI authorized Canara Bank and HDFC Bank to transact in rubles with Russia.
◉ To facilitate rupee exchange with Russia, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has given HDFC Bank Ltd. and Canara Bank Ltd. permission to open special “Vostro accounts.”
◉ Vostro accounts are a crucial component of correspondent banking since they are accounts that a bank manages on behalf of another, frequently foreign, bank.
◉ Up till this point, five Indian banks have acquired regulatory approval for rupee transactions. The other three are UCO Bank, Union Bank, and IndusInd Bank.
