1. In January 2023, India will host the 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas in Indore.
◉ The 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas will take place in Indore, India, on January 8–10, 2023.
Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, president of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, will attend the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas as the chief guest.
◉ At the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, which will take place on January 8, 2023, Australian MP Zaneta Mascarenhas will be the special guest.
2. Anurag Thakur opened the first drone training conference in India.

◉ Spice Money and Axis Bank have teamed up to make it easier for rural residents to open fast, zero-balance savings or current accounts through Spice Money’s Adhikari network.
◉ Goal: To eliminate the gap between rural and urban areas and promote financial inclusion by giving customers access to banking services right at their doorstep.
◉ More than 10 lakh Adhikaris make up the Spice Money network, which serves more than 10 crore homes and spans more than 18,000 postcodes, 700 districts, and 5,000 blocks.

◉ Hrishikesh Kanitkar has been named the Senior Women’s Cricket Team’s Batting Coach by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
◉ From the forthcoming five-match T20I series against Australia that gets underway on December 9 in Mumbai, Kanitkar will be in command of the squad.
◉ Since Romesh Powar’s contract with the Indian national women’s cricket team expired, the team has been without a head coach for the previous two months.

7. J&K High Court’s interim chief justice is Justice Tashi Rabstan

11. Yoginder K. Alagh, a distinguished economist, passed away
◉ Yoginder K. Alagh, a renowned economist, a retired professor at the Sardar Patel Institute of Economic and Social Research (SPIESR) in Ahmedabad, and a former minister died.
◉ He was born in Chakwal (in present-day Pakistan) in 1939.
Professor Y.K. Alagh had a strong interest in many facets of public policy, especially economics, the environment, and rural development.
