1. Kerala scores goals that are recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records.
◉ Kerala has received 4,500 penalty kicks in a 12-hour period, breaking a world record.
◉ In order to break the previous Guinness World Record for a Dream Goal penalty shootout held in ◉ Manjeri, Kerala, the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs arranged the competition.
◉ Students, instructors, and other passionate people eagerly lined up to take the penalty kicks. The ◉ State Department of Youth Affairs and Sports planned the event, and representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records were there.
◉ Germany’s previous mark of 2500 penalty kicks was shattered at the Malappuram event.
2. The “Aarogya Maitri” project was announced by PM Modi.
◉ The new “Aarogya Maitri” initiative, unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will see India donate vital medical supplies to any developing nation experiencing a humanitarian catastrophe or natural disaster.
◉ During the Voice of the Global South Summit, PM Modi announced the “Aarogya Maitri” project. ◉ He also suggested creating a “center of excellence” to help these nations with development.
3. Piyush Goyal will launch the MAARG startup mentoring platform.
◉ Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, will introduce the MAARG platform (Mentorship, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth)

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually signaled the departure of the Vande Bharata Express train that runs between Secunderabad and Vishakhapatnam.
◉ The Vande Bharat Express will be the eighth one that Indian Railways introduces, and it will be the first to link the two Telugu-speaking States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

◉ Bhiwadi, Khushkhera, Tapukara, Karoli, Neemrana, Behror, Gheelot, and Khairthal are the principal industrial regions that the Regional Office serves.
7. Pune will host the G20’s inaugural Infrastructure Working Group meeting.
◉ From January 16–17, 2023, Pune will host the first G-20 Infrastructure Working Group (IWG) meeting under the G20 India Presidency.
◉ India has invited international organizations, IWG member nations, and guests to the event to discuss the 2023 Infrastructure Agenda while India has the G20 Presidency.
◉ Australia and Brazil will serve as co-chairs of the meeting, which will be hosted by the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, and Government of India.

8. Sultan al-Jaber, the head of ADNOC Oil, is appointed by the UAE to lead COP28.
◉ This year’s COP28 climate meetings will be presided over by Sultan al-Jaber, the head of the national oil corporation of the United Arab Emirates.
◉ Jaber, who is also the climate ambassador for the UAE and the minister of industry and technology, will assist shape the COP28 agenda and take a leading part in intergovernmental negotiations to forge consensus.
◉ After Egypt held the 27th Conference of the Parties (COP 27) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 2022, the UAE, a significant OPEC oil exporter, will host the climate conference.
◉ The first CEO to assume the position at the UN summit will be the ADNOC CEO.

9. Alibaba sells a $125 million block deal stake in Paytm.
◉ Through a block agreement, China’s Alibaba Group sold a 3.1% share in Indian digital payments company Paytm for a total of $125 million.
◉ Alibaba sold its 6.26% ownership of Paytm at a price of 536.95 Indian rupees per share.
Paytm, formerly One97 Communications went public in 2021 following a massive $2.5 billion IPO (IPO).
◉ Since then, the stock has fallen almost 75% from its IPO offer price as investors began to doubt the company’s intentions for monetizing its services amid concerns about the exorbitant valuations of IT firms and anxieties about a possible global economic recession.
