1. In New Delhi, PM Modi inaugurated the nationwide Aadi Mahotsa.
◉ The national Aadi Mahotsav has begun in New Delhi’s Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The festival, which will honor the tribal spirit through its culture, crafts, gastronomy, trade, and traditional art, is set to take place from February 16 to February 27, 2023.
◉ For the Mahotsav, almost 1000 tribal artisans will take part. The Mahotsav will place a particular emphasis on presenting Shree Anna grown by the tribal people in keeping with the commemoration of the International Year of Millets.
2. The first frozen-lake marathon in India will be held in Ladakh at Pangong Tso.
◉ The first “Frozen-Lake Marathon” in India will take place on February 20, 2023, at 13,862-foot-high Pangong Tso in Ladakh.
◉ The “appropriate action plan” for the occasion has been entrusted to the Indian army and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
◉ From Lukung, the 21-kilometer marathon will begin, and it will terminate in Maan village.
◉ 75 selected athletes from India and abroad will compete in the event.
◉ To draw attention to the subject of climate change, the marathon is being dubbed the “Final Run.”
3. In New Delhi, the Health Ministry sponsored the “Cycle for Health” cycling event.
◉ A cycling event called “Cycle for Health” has been planned by the Union Health Ministry at Lady Hardinge Medical College in New Delhi.

4. First Working Group Meeting held in Indore
◉ In Indore, under the G20 chairmanship of India, the first Agricultural Representatives Meeting (ADM) of the Agriculture Working Group (AWG) was conducted.
◉ Jyotiraditya Scindia, minister of civil aviation for the Union, launched it.
◉ Food security and nutrition, environmentally friendly agriculture with a focus on climate change, inclusive agricultural value chains, and food systems, and digitalization for agricultural transformation were the four main themes covered in the presentations on the Issue Note for AWG.
5. Mumbai witnessed the debut of India’s first electric AC double-decker bus.
◉ The first electric double-decker bus with air conditioning in the nation was unveiled in Mumbai by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Company (BEST).
◉ The Electric Double Decker Bus has 73 seats available. It can be charged in 80 minutes and has automated doors and Security cameras.
◉ The tickets will cost the same as before, with a minimum fare of Rs. 6 being levied for a 5 km journey.
◉ The transportation company already operates 45 electric AC buses of various capacities, and this year, 100 more wet-lease buses will gradually be added to the fleet.

6. A pilot initiative for digital payments made offline was started by HDFC Bank.
◉ A pilot program called “OfflinePay” by Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Bank has been launched to test offline digital payments for customers and merchants, enabling financial transactions even when there is no cell network.
◉ In collaboration with Crunchfish Digital Cash AB, a company based in Sweden, HDFC has unveiled the first-ever digital payment option.
◉ A subsidiary of Crunchfish AB, Crunchfish Digital Cash AB, participates in the Regulatory Sandbox Program of the RBI on behalf of merchants and customers.
7. In January 2023, WPI inflation softened to a 24-month low of 4.73%.
◉ Inflation measured using the wholesale pricing index (WPI) for January 2023 dropped to a two-year low of 73%.
◉ This was due to a bigger base and a decrease in the price pressure on manufactured goods and fuel.
◉ Factory-gate inflation has been in the single digits for four months in a row now, after being in the double digits for 18 straight months.
◉ The wholesale price inflation rate was 4.95 percent in December 2022.

◉ Aniket Sunil Talati has been chosen to serve as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAInew )’s President of the Council for the years 2023–24.

◉ The ICAI Accounting Research Foundation’s Director is Aniket Sunil Talati (ICAI ARF).
◉ Talati has served as the chairperson of numerous committees for the ICAI’s Branch and Regional Councils and has been an active director of the organization’s Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) India, Accounting Research Foundation, and Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals (IIIPI).

◉ Since 2016, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has held Financial Literacy Week (FLW) annually to spread the word about important financial education topics like “MSMEs,” “Credit Discipline and Credit from Formal Institutions,” and “Digital Financial Literacy,” among others.
◉ “Good Financial Behaviour, Your Saviour” will be the topic of this year’s Financial Literacy Week, which will take place from February 13 through February 17, 2023.
◉ The theme complemented the 2020–2025 National Strategy for Financial Education’s strategic goals.
