Current Affairs of 27th February – National News


1. North East’s first compressed biogas facility was opened by the Assam chief minister.
◉ At Sonapur in Assam’s Kamrup district, the first compressed biogas plant project in North East India was officially opened by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
◉ The facility will be able to produce five tonnes of compressed biogas per day from raw materials like municipal solid wastes and animal manure.
◉ Compressed biogas facilities like the one being developed in Sonapur would not only help with municipal solid waste management issues, but they would also give farmers another source of income because they would be able to sell livestock manure to the biogas producers.

2. In Assam, the Ministry of Ayush held the first “Chintan Shivir”
◉ A “Chintan Shivir” for Ayush has been planned by the Ministry of Ayush at Kaziranga National Park in Assam.
◉ The event was launched by Ayush Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister.
◉ The purpose of the event is to talk about how current Ayush sectors and traditional medical policies and initiatives could be implemented better in the future.

3. In Bikaner, the 14th Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav began.
◉ The Karni Singh Stadium in Bikaner, Rajasthan, hosted the start of the 14th Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav.
◉ It is run by the Union Ministry of Culture and was launched with a Shobha Yatra, in which artists from various states across the nation took part while dressed in ethnic garb.
◉ The country’s rich cultural legacy is to be preserved, promoted, and made more widely known as a result of the event.
◉ The craft fair and numerous exhibitions were opened by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra and Union Minister of State for Culture Arjun Ram Meghwal.
The nine-day festival is being put together with the help of several academies and seven regional cultural institutes.

4. Inaugurating the “World Biotech Conclave” was Jitendra Singh.
◉ Science & Technology Union MoS In Imphal, Manipur, Dr. Jitendra Singh opened the “World Biotech Conclave.”
◉ Together with the 10th Congress of the Society for Ethno-pharmacology, it coincided with the 22nd Congress of the International Society for Ethno-pharmacology.
◉ Reimagine Ethnopharmacology: Globalization of Traditional Medicine was the conclave’s subject.

5. In Maharashtra, Nitin Gadkari launched highway projects worth Rs 3670 billion.
◉ Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways opened 3670 crore rupees’ worth of national highway projects in Maharashtra.
◉ They include three National Highway projects worth Rs 1,058 crore and 75 km in length at Parbhani, three National Highway projects totaling 212 km in length at Nanded, and one National Highway project costing Rs 1,037.4 crore at Hingoli.
◉ These initiatives are anticipated to increase the state’s Marathwada region’s connectivity to surrounding Telangana and Karnataka.

6. Aurangabad marks the start of the international Ellora Ajanta Festival.
◉ At Aurangabad, Maharashtra, the three-day Ellora Ajanta International Festival 2023 got underway.
◉ Dr. Bhagwat Karad, Union Minister of State for Finance, opened the celebration.
◉ This festival, which honors the region’s rich cultural diversity and legacy, promises to be a feast for the senses.
◉ It will include a variety of activities, such as live musical performances, dancing performances, art displays, and food festivals.

7. India is ranked 42 out of 55 countries in the global IP index.
◉ According to the US Chamber of Commerce’s most recent International IP Index study, India is placed 42 out of 55 nations.

◉ The J&K Tourism Department received the honor in appreciation of its work marketing “Gulmarg” as a top-tier adventure destination.

◉ The 3,000-ton conventional diesel-electric submarine traveled across the neighboring Sunda Strait and docked in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.
◉ INS Sindhukesari’s maiden operational turnaround included the drill.
