1. India and Sri Lanka open the Geoffrey Bawa exhibition in New Delhi.
◉ The show “Geoffrey Bawa: It is important to be there” has just opened in New Delhi at the National Gallery of Contemporary Art and the Sri Lankan High Commission.
◉ This year’s show is set to run from 11 AM to 6.30 PM, excluding Mondays, through May 7.
◉ The celebration will honor the Cultural Exchange Program between the two nations and mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
◉ There will be more than 120 documents from the Bawa archives on display, including a section on unfinished projects and Bawa’s personal vacation photos.
2. Under the PM MITRA program, the government would create giant textile parks across 7 states.
◉ Mega textile parks are being planned to be built in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, according to the Central Government.
◉ The PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks for the Textile Industry are a step in achieving the goal of making India a center for the production and export of textiles on a global scale.

6. Indian GDP projected to expand by 6% in FY24 by Crisil
◉ India’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is predicted to increase at 6% in 2023–2024, a lower rate than the 7% predicted for 2022–2023, according to a report by credit rating agency CRISIL.
◉ According to CRISIL, due to the high-base effect and some easing of oil and commodity prices, consumer inflation is predicted to drop to 5 percent on average in fiscal 2024 from 6.8 percent on average in fiscal 2023.
◉ While the weakening economy should control core inflation, a healthy rabi harvest would aid in reducing food inflation.
◉ Over 2023–2024, retail inflation will be on average 5%, down from 6.8%. (averaged in 2022-23).

◉ The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, established Invest India in 2009.
8. BPCL names G Krishnakumar as its new CMD.
◉ The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s new chairman and managing director are Krishnakuma (BPCL).
