1. In Rajasthan, three new wildlife reserves have been established.
◉ The rare and endangered species of Rajasthan will be protected by three new conservation areas, according to the Forest Department of Rajasthan.
◉ Sorsan in Baran, Khichan near Jodhpur, and Hamirgarh in Bhilwara are these three new animal protection reserves.
◉ There are currently 26 wildlife conservation reserves in Rajasthan as a result of these three new additions.
◉ The Bisalpur Conservation Reserve in Tonk, the Jodbeed Gadhwala Bikaner Conservation Reserve in Bikaner, the Khetri Bansyal Conservation Reserve in Jhunjhunu, and the Jawai Bandh Leopard Conservation Reserve in Pali are a few of the well-known conservation reserves.
2. In Lakshadweep, the Science 20 Engagement Group meeting gets underway.
◉ Under the G20 chairmanship of India, the Science 20 Engagement Group meeting on Universal Holistic Health got underway at Lakshadweep, Bangaram Island.

3. A cooperative nuclear power plant development deal is signed by NTPC and NPCIL.
◉ Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. (NPCIL) and NTPC Ltd. have entered into a supplementary joint venture (JV) agreement for the development of nuclear power projects in the nation.
◉ The JV company would initially develop the Chutka Madhya Pradesh Atomic Power Project (2,700 MW) and Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project (4,700 MW) pressurized heavy-water reactor (PHWR) projects.
◉ In addition to expanding nuclear capacity with pressurized heavy water reactors (PHWR), NTPC also intends to do so with small modular reactors.

5. As the first insurer to accept CBDC, Reliance General
◉ The RBI’s Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) e-Rupee (e) has been adopted by Reliance General Insurance, making it the first general insurance provider to accept it for premium payments.
◉ The insurer and YES Bank have partnered to make it easier to collect premiums online using the bank’s e-rupee platform.
◉ Customers can scan the CBDC QR code for Reliance General Insurance to make quick, simple, secure, and environmentally friendly payments if they have an active e-rupee wallet with any bank.
◉ The e-rupee is a digital token that is equivalent to a banknote and is backed by the RBI. It is legal tender. It offers the same anonymity as a banknote and eliminates all the problems associated with handling actual currency.
6. RBI: Tamil Nadu leads market borrowing for the third straight year.
◉ Tamil Nadu has topped the list of States with the largest market borrowings for the third year in a row.
◉ According to data from the RBI, Tamil Nadu’s gross market borrowings from State Development Loans (SDLs) for April to February of FY23 totaled 68,000 crores.
◉ With Rs 51,860 crore, Andhra Pradesh is in second place. With a borrowing total of Rs. 50,000 crore, Maharashtra ranks third among the states in the nation.
◉ The state that borrowed the most throughout the previous two fiscal years, 2020–21 and 2021–22, was Tamil Nadu, it should be noted.
7. GST revenue for April 2023 reached a record high of Rs 1.87 trillion.
◉ In April 2023, the total revenue from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) grew by 12% to Rs 87 lakh crore.
◉ Since the indirect tax regime began in July 2017, it is the highest monthly mop-up.
◉ The total amount of GST income collected in April 2023 was $1,87,035; this includes the CGST of 38,440 crores, the SGST of 47,412 crores, the IGST of 89,158 crore (including the 34,972 crores received on import of goods), and the cess of 12,025 crores (including the 901 crores collected on import of goods).
◉ The government has paid 37,959 crores in SGST from IGST and 45,864 crores to CGST.
