1. Government of Telangana Unveils Robotics Framework
◉ A robotics framework has been created by the Telangana government as a road map for fostering a robotic ecosystem in the State. The nation has never seen a policy like this one before.
◉ To carry out the initiative’s key pillars of infrastructure access, business enablement, fostering research and innovation, development of a skilled workforce, and responsible deployment, the government will establish the Telangana Robotics Innovation Centre (TRIC).
◉ The framework will support an ecosystem for innovation that will assist the State in producing robots not just for the nation but also for the rest of the world.
2. Face mask with sensor created by BITS Pilani to detect illness
◉ An illness-detection face mask has been created by BITS Pilani Hyderabad researchers.
◉ The researchers created a stretchable, flexible Laser-Induced Graphene (LIG), a 3-D carbon nanomaterial, based on the ‘Kirigami’ technique for real-time attachments with surgical masks.
◉ LIG is a substance that is frequently used to track important physiological indicators such as blood oxygen saturation, body temperature, and vital indications like breath rate and respiratory rate.
3. Launch of SAKSHAM Learning Management Information System by the Ministry of Health
◉ A learning management system called SAKSHAM (Stimulating Advanced Knowledge for Sustainable Health Management) has been introduced by the Union Health Ministry.
◉ All national health professionals can access training and education in medicine online through the SAKSHAM website.
◉ Rajesh Bhushan, the health secretary, introduced SAKSHAM.
◉ The capacity building of health professionals will be inclusive thanks to this digital learning platform. More than 200 public health courses and 100 clinical courses are already available online through the platform.
4. In-water communications sensor technology is being developed by DRDO and IIT Madras.

6. In 2022–2023, Reserve Bank gold reserves increased 4.5% to 794.64 tonnes.
◉ In the fiscal year that concluded on March 31, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) added 22 metric tonnes of gold, bringing the total amount of gold reserves to 794.64 metric tonnes.
◉ As of March 31, 2022, RBI possessed 760.42 metric tonnes, up from 695.31 metric tonnes the previous year.
◉ According to a recent World Gold Council (WGC) report, the RBI increased its gold holdings by 7 metric tonnes between January and March 2023.
◉ In the RBI’s half-yearly report on the management of foreign exchange reserves for the period of October 2022 to March 2023, gold deposits of 56.32 metric tonnes were listed as part of the reserves as of March 31, 2023.
