1. India launches “Operation Karuna” to aid Myanmar, which was ravaged by a cyclone.
◉ In order to help Myanmar, which has been ravaged by Cyclone Mocha, India has started “Operation Karuna.”
◉ The Indian Navy’s three ships arrived in Yangon with supplies.
◉ Emergency food supplies, tents, necessary medications, water pumps, portable generators, clothing, sanitizing, and hygiene supplies, etc. are all being transported by the ships.
◉ The INS Shivalik, INS Kamorta, and INS Savitri transported more than 40 tonnes of HADR supplies, which included wheelchairs, face masks, tarpaulins, portable generators, clothing, water pumps, medicines, and emergency food supplies.
2. HPCL will build a Rs 500 billion ethanol facility in Una. HP
◉ Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, the chief minister of Himachal Pradesh, declared that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has agreed to build a cutting-edge ethanol factory in Jeetpur Baheri, the Una district.
◉ This project, which is expected to cost Rs 500 crore, intends to increase ethanol production in the area and offer several employment possibilities to nearby populations.
◉ The government will provide 50% of the project’s equity and will work with the business to erect the plant.
3. Twelve billion tap water connections are made through the Jal Jeevan Mission.

4. Rural children’s online education program ‘Pahal’ launched
◉ Durga Shankar Mishra, the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, launched the “Pahal” program for online rural education at the Government UP Sainik Inter College in Sarojini Nagar.

◉ The “Turning Off The Tap” research by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) claims that if businesses and governments use current technologies to change markets and policies, plastic waste could be reduced globally by up to 80% by 2040.
◉ The paper emphasizes the scope and kind of adjustments needed to stop plastic pollution and establish a circular economy as a replacement for the pervasive use of single-use plastics and their improper disposal.
◉ Oceans become contaminated and marine ecosystems are weakened by plastic waste. The human food chain is becoming more and more contaminated with microplastics, which are microscopic particles left over from the dumping and degradation of consumer goods and industrial waste.
