◉ The transfer of Rs 87,416 crore in surplus to the government for the fiscal year 2022–23 has been authorized by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The transfer of Rs 30,307 crore from the previous year is virtually double this sum.
◉ The increase in revenue from the selling of foreign exchange reserves is blamed for the surge in the surplus. Despite obstacles including rising US treasury yields, the RBI’s surplus transfer is anticipated to significantly increase the government’s revenue.
2. RBI declares the removal of 2000-euro bills from circulation.

◉ Vaghsheer, the sixth and last submarine of the Kalvari class in the Indian Navy, has started its sea trials.
