1. The Sai Hira Global Convention Centre in Puttaparthi is opened by the PM.
◉ The Sai Hira global convention centre at Prasanthi Nilayam in Puttaparthi, in the Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, has essentially been opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
◉ The following 25 years of India’s independence will be known as the “Kartavya Kaal” as the nation gives completing its tasks first importance.
◉ We have renamed this “Amrit Kaal” as the “Kartavya Kaal” as we go closer to the journey of 100 years of Indian freedom.
2. The Home Minister approves the distribution of Rs 6,194 crore to 19 States for disaster relief.
◉ Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the transfer of Rs 6,194.40 crore to 19 states under the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
◉ For 2022–2023, four states—Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh—will get a central share of Rs 1,209.60 crore from the SDRF.
◉ Additionally, 15 states (Andhra Pradesh, AP Assam, Bihar, Goa, Haryana, HP, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Odisha, Punjab, TN, and Tripura) would receive Rs 4,984.80 crore in 2023–24.
◉ The release of $3,649.40 billion to nine States as the Central Share of SDRF for the years 2023–2024 has already been authorized by the Central government.
3. Launch of Chennai’s first “Police Drone Unit”
◉ A ‘Drone Police Unit’ has been established by the Greater Chennai Police to aid officers in conducting aerial surveillance.
◉ This will be especially useful for huge crowds, real-time vehicle registration data verification, and identifying suspects.
◉ According to the police, this unit has a total of nine drones that fall into three categories: quick-response surveillance drones (six), heavy-lift multirotor drones (one), and long-range survey drones (two).
◉ These can all operate up to a distance of 5 to 10 km from the ground station and have built-in artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
4. Launch of the Contribution Reports Web Portal by the Election Commission
◉ Political parties can now submit their financial reports to the EC online.
◉ The Commission has opened a web platform for political parties to submit their contribution reports, audited annual accounts, and election expense statements.
◉ As per the Representation of People’s Act and transparency guidelines, political parties are expected to periodically disclose these financial statements to the poll body.
◉ The facility was built to help political parties get over the challenges associated with physically filing reports and to guarantee the timely filing of financial statements.

5. India’s low-carbon transition will be financed by the World Bank with USD 1.5 billion.
◉ The World Bank’s executive board has authorized a $1.5 billion loan to hasten India’s transition to low-carbon electricity.
◉ By boosting renewable energy production, creating green hydrogen, and encouraging climate finance for low-carbon energy initiatives, the financing will aid India in promoting low-carbon energy.
◉ By 2030, the Centre wants to install 500 GW of renewable energy capacity, and by 2070, it wants to be net zero.
◉ Additionally, the Indian government just unveiled the eagerly awaited incentive program for the generation of green hydrogen, valued at over $17,000 crore.
◉ The first of two planned operations, the “First Low-Carbon Energy Programmatic Development Policy Operation,” will assist India in producing green hydrogen.

6. Debadatta Chand is appointed MD of the Bank of Baroda.
◉ The Bank of Baroda (BoB) has appointed Debadatta Chand as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
◉ Sanjiv Chadha, whose term as leader ended on June 30, 2023, has been replaced.
◉ Prior to taking on this position, Chand had been the bank’s Executive Director since March 2021.
◉ He was in charge of corporate & institutional banking, treasury & global markets, mid-corporate business, trade & foreign exchange, and corporate & institutional credit.
7. Kameshwar Kodavanti is named as the new CFO by SBI.
◉ As of July 1, 2023, Kameshwar Kodavanti will serve as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the State Bank of India.
◉ He took over for Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra, who left his position.
◉ He has experience in banking, foreign exchange, finance, and accounting, and has been employed by the State Bank of India since August 1991.
◉ He brings to his new position experience in accounting, banking, and finance.

8. Euclid, a European space telescope, is launched by SpaceX to study the “dark universe.”
◉ The Euclid Observatory of the European Space Agency was launched by SpaceX in the direction of its 1.5 million kilometers final destination.
◉ In an effort to shed light on how the dark universe evolved and why its expansion is accelerating, the telescope will produce a highly anticipated 3D image of the cosmos that spans both space and time.
◉ According to the mission’s chief scientist, Euclid will measure dark energy and dark matter with previously unheard-of precision.
◉ Euclid, which stands four meters tall and is nearly that wide, is equipped with a 1.2-meter telescope, two research tools, and the ability to observe the cosmos in both visible light and near-infrared.
◉ The Greek mathematician Euclid inspired the naming of this telescope.

10. The sixth Youth Women’s National Boxing Championships are won by Haryana.
◉ In Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana has won the sixth Youth Women’s National Boxing Championships.
◉ A total of 13 medals, including five gold, four silver, and four bronze, were won by Haryana.
◉ Delhi and Uttarakhand took second and third place, scoring 32 and 20 points, respectively.
◉ Nikita Chand, the two-time Asian Junior Champion, led Uttarakhand to three gold and one silver medal. With three silver and one bronze medal, Delhi finished their campaign.
