1. Nitin Gadkari dedicates and begins construction on the 11 highway project.
◉ In Pratapgarh, Rajasthan, the foundation stone was laid for 11 national highway (NH) projects totaling $5600 crore by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.
◉ The event marked the beginning of four NH projects totaling 219 km in length and $3,775 crore in cost. The National Highway 48 segment between Kishangarh and Gulbapura will be 6-laned as part of a project to support the social and economic growth of the Ajmer and Bhilwara districts.
◉ Additionally, the Gulabpura to Chittorgarh portion would be 6-laned, improving communication between the Bhilwara and Chittorgarh districts and the Udaipur, Jaipur, and Kota regions.

3. Joshimath has six seismogram towers installed to track land sinking
◉ Six seismogram towers have recently been built at Joshimath by the National Centre of Seismology (NCS), which is part of the Ministry of Earth Sciences, to track land subsidence and create a reliable solution.
◉ These towers will make it easier to gather information for research to determine if the region’s hydrological changes are due to human activity or natural occurrences.
◉ The work will assist in creating seismic micro-zonation maps, which are crucial for urban planning since they aid in earthquake effect prediction. After that, Joshimath’s surrounding Chamoli region will have its own architectural design code for new construction.
◉ Additionally, it will support long-term planning for the safe development of seismically active areas in the Himalayan region.
4. In Lucknow, monkey forests will grow.
◉ In order to support the primate population and lessen friction between humans and primates, the Uttar Pradesh government aims to establish specialized monkey forests in Lucknow.
◉ The intended annual planter campaign for the simian population will result in the creation of a few designated “monkey forests” (Vanar Vans) in the state capital.
◉ The nagar nigam, forest, and rural development agencies will produce these Vanar Vans in three categories.

5. The UP government will launch its Road Safety Fortnight campaign on July 17.
