1. First Beauty and Lifestyle Festival in India, NYKAALAND, opens in New Delhi
◉ The first beauty and lifestyle festival in India, Nykaaland, was made possible by a partnership between Book My Show and omnichannel consumer technology startup Nykaa.
◉ On November 5 and 6, the two-day tournament will take place in Mumbai at Mahalaxmi Racecourse’s Royal Western India Turf Club.
◉ Leading cosmetics brands, makeup artists, business owners, dermatologists, beauty experts, and content creators will all attend the first beauty and lifestyle festival.
2. In 12 states, the government has launched the Piliot digital crop survey.
◉ For better sowing data gathering, the Union government has started the Digital Crop Survey (DCS) in 12 states as a pilot program beginning with the Kharif 2023 (summer-sown) season of this year.
◉ A public good that is open source, open standard, and interoperable is the DCS reference application.
◉ Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Odisha, and Assam are the 12 states chosen for the DCS pilot program.
3. The NAPDDR was introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice.
◉ The NAPDDR, or National Action Plan for Drug Demand Reduction, has been introduced by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
◉ Goal: To reach out to the general public and raise awareness about substance use, with a concentration on colleges and universities, and schools.
◉ The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment released NMBA on August 15, 2020, and it is already being used in 372 of the most vulnerable districts.
4. The government introduced the Vivad se Vishwas-II program.
◉ For the purpose of resolving contractual disputes involving the government and government undertakings, the government has introduced the Vivad se Vishwas-2 system.
◉ The program was revealed in the Union Budget for 2023–2024.
◉ The plan aims to settle legal issues between the government and private parties, reduce the backlog of litigation, and make doing business easier.
◉ The scheme’s claim submission date is October 31, 2023.
◉ Any domestic contract dispute in which one of the parties is either the Government of India or a body acting under its authority shall be subject to the system.

5. At IIM Ahmedabad, SIDBI and CIIE worked together.
◉ The main lending agency for MSMEs in India, the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), has joined forces with the startup accelerator CIIE at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
◉ SIDBI will establish a SIDBI Accelerator Fund at the incubator through this partnership, with an initial corpus of Rs 20 crore.
◉ Objective: To encourage businesses with deserving concepts and technology vital to India’s ambitions for self-sufficiency by 2047.
6. NABARD awards the Rajasthan government Rs. 1974 crore
◉ Under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) year 2023–2024, the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has approved Rs 1,974.07 crore for the Rajasthan government.
◉ Three rural drinking water delivery projects in the districts of Ajmer, Jalore, and Kota have been approved for a total of Rs 930.44 crore.
◉ Additionally, Rs 926.48 crore was approved for the building of 676 rural roads in the state’s tribal and desert regions.
◉ Previously, Rs 117.15 crore had been approved for the construction of 431 sub-centers and 104 veterinary hospitals across the state’s districts.

7. Additional DG of the Military Nurse Service appointed under Amita Rani
◉ The Military Nursery Service’s (MNS) Additional Director General has been named as Major General Amita Rani.
◉ The General Officer graduated from the Army Hospital (R&R), Delhi’s College of Nursing. She formerly held the position of Brig MNS, HQ (NC) before accepting the current assignment.
◉ The General Officer joined the Military Nursing Service in 1983 after receiving his commission.
◉ She has previously held positions in the Command Hospital Air Force in Bangalore, 154 General Hospital, MH Jalandhar, and DPM CH(EC) Kolkata.
◉ She holds a Six Sigma Green Belt in Quality Management and Healthcare from Singapore’s National Health Care Academy.
