1. The Assam Government issued a notice outlawing plastic water bottles smaller than one liter.
◉ The Assam Environment and Forest Department has made a crucial step toward environmental conservation by declaring a ban on the use and production of plastic water bottles having a capacity of less than 1000 ml within the state.
◉ The Environment (Protection) Act of 1986 governs the prohibition of plastic water bottles with capacities of less than 1000 ml. The notification makes use of the authority granted to the State by the Government of India’s Ministry of Environment & Forests under Section 23 of the Act. The notification states that the prohibition will go into force on October 2.
2. Deciphering India’s new National Curriculum Framework for school instruction
◉ In order to give students more curricular freedom and options, the instruction Ministry recently presented an innovative National Curriculum Framework for school instruction.
◉ The new National Curricular Framework aims to increase curricular flexibility so that students can select from a wider range of disciplines and better match their education to their interests and professional goals.
◉ The new framework contains ideas for a dual-board examination system that would provide pupils with a special option. It means including language proficiency as a necessary ability in addition to providing a greater variety of Indian languages as study alternatives.
3. 18 “Atal Residential” schools, costing Rs. 1,250 crore, are approved by the UP cabinet.
◉ A sizeable budget of Rs 1,250 crore has been set aside by the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet to create 18 “Atal Residential Schools” among the state’s 18 divisions.
◉ These schools, follow the Navodaya Vidyalaya model and strive to offer top-notch instruction. Each of the schools will be able to accommodate 1,000 students, comprising 500 boys and 500 girls.
◉ Classes six through twelve will all follow the same curriculum. These institutions will also be able to accommodate students whose education was interfered with by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is significant. The goal is for these institutions to develop as centers of educational excellence.

With immediate effect, the central bank has increased the cap on offline payment transactions from 200 to 500. This action is a component of RBI’s continuous initiatives to simplify payment procedures and adjust to changing consumer demands.
◉ Although the maximum amount for each offline transaction has increased, a payment instrument’s overall offline transaction limit still stands at 2,000. In the event of any unauthorized use, this prevents excessive financial exposure and ensures a balance between ease and security.
