1. At the site of the G20 summit, the tallest Nataraja statue has been erected.
◉ At Bharat Mandapam, the location of the G20 summit in Delhi, the tallest Nataraja statue in the world has been erected.
◉ The 20-ton, 28-foot-tall statue was created at Swamimalai in Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur District in a record-breaking seven months by sculptor Radhakrishnan Sthapathy and his team.
◉ Using the traditional casting technique, the statue was constructed in Ashtadhatu (8 metals).
2. Gujarat will host the inaugural WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine in 2023.
◉ The “Gujarat Declaration” is the document that the World Health Organization (WHO) presented as the result of the inaugural WHO Traditional Medicine Global Summit 2023.
◉ The declaration reiterated international commitments to traditional, alternative, and integrative medicine, biodiversity, and indigenous knowledge.
◉ WHO emphasized the necessity for the use of rigorous scientific methodologies to better comprehend, evaluate, and, where necessary, deploy more comprehensive, context-specific, complicated, and individualized approaches for everyone’s health and well-being.
3. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, has officially opened the nation’s first solar city in the MP town of Sanchi.
◉ In Sanchi, rooftop solar panels have been erected on every building, including schools, government buildings, street lights, and post offices. In urban households, solar study lamps are also in use.
◉ Sanchi Solar City will cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 13,000 747 tonnes per year, which is the equivalent of almost two lakh adult trees.
4. Introducing the G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard was the Ministry of Tourism.
◉ The G20 Tourism and SDG Dashboard was introduced by the Ministry of Tourism in association with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
◉ G Kishan Reddy, the Union Minister for Tourism, introduced the dashboard during a virtual event.
◉ It displays successful strategies, real-world examples, and G20 country perspectives that are all geared toward accomplishing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
◉ This dashboard, which reflects India’s commitment to international cooperation and sustainable growth in the tourism sector, is a tangible legacy of the country’s G20 Presidency.
5. The government approved a Viability Gap funding scheme for Rs 3,760 crores.
◉ The Scheme for Viability Gap Funding (VGF) for the advancement of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) has received government approval.
◉ The plan calls for the creation of BESS plants with a capacity of 4,000 Megawatt Hours by 2030–2031, with budgetary support covering up to 40% of the capital cost.
◉ Its initial investment is around 9,400 crore rupees, including 3,760 crore rupees in fiscal support. ◉ The VGF will be distributed in five installments, each of which corresponds to a different stage in the BESS projects’ implementation.
6. The government of Nagaland declared Saturday a holiday for all schools.
◉ All schools in the State of Nagaland will be closed on Saturday, according to the government of the region.
◉ During the State-level Teacher’s Day celebration in Kohima, the Advisor for School Education & SCERT, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, made this announcement.
◉ Saturdays will be carefully maintained as holidays since students require time outside of the classroom for holistic development and instructors need time for their families.
◉ In addition, Yhome stated that starting in the upcoming school year, the Department would mandate that everyone obtain a School Children Health Card. This will enable every child to receive medical care right outside of their school.

7. Making the digital rupee app compatible with UPI QR codes is IDFC First Bank
◉ To increase the adoption of digital rupee and increase its utilization, IDFC FIRST Bank has announced a new improvement that integrates UPI QR Codes with its Central Bank Digital Currency app, the IDFC FIRST Bank Digital Rupee.
◉ The UPI interoperability feature will significantly accelerate the uptake of CBDC nationwide.
◉ Due to this breakthrough, customers may conveniently utilize digital rupees to pay at numerous merchant locations using UPI QR codes that are already in place.

8. The DoT has appointed Neeraj Mittal as Secretary.
◉ The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has chosen Neeraj Mittal to serve as Secretary of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT).
◉ K Rajaraman, who is now in charge of Gujarat’s International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA), is being replaced by him.
◉ Neeraj Mittal is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 1992 batch.
◉ He is currently the Tamil Nadu Department of Information Technology’s Principal Secretary.
◉ He has held positions as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Senior Advisor for the World Bank Group.

9. 75 teachers receive the National Teachers’ Award for 2023 from the president.
◉ On the occasion of Teacher Day, President Droupadi Murmu presented the National Teachers’ Award 2023 to 75 outstanding educators at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.
◉ Three distinct national juries made up of notable people were formed by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to carefully choose these great educators.
