1. The Goa CM introduces the Griha Adhar program to help Goan housewives.
◉ The Griha Aadhaar program has been introduced in the state by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
◉ The Griha Aadhaar program’s goals are to elevate housewives’ socioeconomic standing, honor their contributions, and advance their financial security.
◉ The Directorate of Women and Child Development’s “Griha Aadhaar” project is a significant milestone towards the empowerment of women.
◉ The Chavath-e-Bazaar program, a component of the Swayampura Goa program, was also introduced by Chief Minister Sawant. It aims to empower local business owners through e-commerce.
2. The Ujjwala Yojana’s expansion was approved by the Cabinet.
◉ The extension of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) for the delivery of 75 lakh LPG connections over three years, from Financial Year 2023–24 to 2025–26, has been agreed by the Union Cabinet, which is presided over by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
◉ With the addition of 75 lakh more Ujjwala connections, the total number of PMUY beneficiaries would reach 10.35 crore.
◉ PMUY customers are receiving a targeted subsidy of Rs. 200 for each 14.2 kg LPG cylinder for up to 12 refills per year. PMUY’s continuation may prevent eligible impoverished households from receiving the full benefit of the program.
3. Synthetic athletic tracks are inaugurated by Anurag Thakur
◉ At the Sports Authority of India High Altitude Training Centre in Shilaroo, Himachal Pradesh, the freshly constructed 6-lane 200-meter synthetic athletic track was opened by the minister of youth affairs and sports, Anurag Singh Thakur.
◉ This 8,000-foot-high track is the nation’s first to be constructed. The high-altitude Hockey Synthetic Track is also housed at the SAI center in Shilaroo.
◉ This cutting-edge track is a substantial addition to the complex and is expected to improve the sporting environment in the area and across the country. Athletes will be able to adapt to high-altitude environments and improve their endurance, stamina, and speed of recovery following demanding training sessions.
4. In Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi opened 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas.
◉ In Uttar Pradesh, the 16 Atal Awasiya Vidyalayas that have been constructed have been opened by the prime minister.
◉ Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, these were constructed at a cost of over 11 hundred crore rupees in order to increase access to high-quality education for children of laborers, building contractors, and orphans.
◉ Each school is built on an area of 10 to 15 acres and includes a mini-auditorium, a hostel complex, staff housing, a sports field, and recreational grounds.

5. The Digital Quality of Life Index ranked India as 52nd.
◉ According to the Digital Quality of Life Index, India is in the 52nd place out of 121 nations. Surfshark, a cybersecurity company, conducted the survey.
◉ The Netherlands-based company’s yearly assessment assessed 121 nations based on five criteria: internet quality, affordability, e-infrastructure, e-government, and e-security.
◉ Denmark, South Korea, and Finland are the top 3 countries in the Digital Quality of Life Index poll.

6. India’s GDP prediction for FY24 is increased by the OECD to 6.3 percent.
◉ The gross domestic product (GDP) growth forecast for India for the fiscal year 2024 has been increased by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) from 6 to 6.3 percent.
◉ The majority of India’s growth surprises have been positive, which has been attributed in part to favorable weather-related agriculture results. India is one of the G20 developing market economies.
◉ However, the analysis predicts that the global economy will expand at a rate of 3% in 2023 before dropping to 2.7 % in 2024.

7. Kiriteshwari Village in West Bengal’s Murshidabad District Wins Best Tourism Village of India Award The Center has chosen Kiriteshwari Village in West Bengal’s Murshidabad District as the nation’s best tourism village.
◉ To get the honor, the town bested 795 applicants from 31 states and Union Territories.
◉ The award will be presented by the Union Ministry on September 27 at a celebration in New Delhi.

8. ‘Pralay’ ballistic missile purchase proposal is approved by the Defense Ministry.
◉ The purchase of a regiment of 150-500 km range Pralay tactical ballistic missiles for the Indian Army has been approved by the Defence Ministry.
◉ A ballistic missile will be introduced to the services for conventional operations for the first time.
◉ The Pralay missiles are currently being mass-produced and should soon be available for use.
◉ The troops have been attempting to acquire and introduce the missile ever since it had two successful tests on two separate days in December.

9. At the Shooting World Cup in Rio, Nischal takes silver while setting a new national record.
◉ In the women’s 50m rifle 3 Positions at the ISSF World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, young Indian shooter Nischal took home the silver medal.
◉ With a final score of 458.0, she placed second behind Norwegian rifle ace Jeanette Hegg Duestad.
◉ Duestad now holds the titles of 300m 3 position World Champion and Air Rifle European Champion. She has won 12 medals in the ISSF World Cup, including five gold. She also finished fourth at the Olympics in Tokyo.
◉ Nischal was in top form the entire day, breaking the women’s 3-position qualification national record in the process.
