1. 9 new Vande Bharat trains are launched by PM Modi
◉ The number of semi-high-speed trains now stands at 34 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi used video conferencing to signal the departure of nine new Vande Bharat Express trains.
◉ The debut of the Vande Bharat Express trains, according to the prime minister, will considerably increase connectivity and encourage tourism throughout India.
◉ In 11 states—Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, and Gujarat—the nine trains would offer speedier connectivity.

3. In Zambia, the oldest wooden building in the world was found.
◉ Near the Tanzania-Zambia border, archaeologists stumbled upon what they believe to be the oldest known wooden structure in the world.
◉ The uncomplicated building is made of two large-fruited willow tree logs that interlock and can be seen in Zambia along a riverbed. A notch in the underside of one log holds it in place while it rests on top of another.
◉ The wooden construction bears marks from the use of precise stone tools to carve, split, and shape the logs. The building is older than contemporary humans and was presumably used as a walkway by early humans who lived along the Kalambo River around 500,000 years ago.

◉ Up to ten locations in the USA and the West Indies will host matches between June 4 and June 30 according to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
◉ For the premier T20 international event, the West Indies will have 7 sites while the USA will have 3.
◉ The seven Caribbean locations that will host matches during the T20 World Cup 2024 from June 4 to 20 have been confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, St. Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago, and St. Vincent & The Grenadines.
