◉ In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened the nation’s first high-tech sports training facility for Divyangjan, which bears the name of the late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

2. India will erect the tallest statue of BR Ambedkar in Maryland, USA.
◉ On October 14, India will dedicate the largest statue of BR Ambedkar outside of India in Maryland, North America.
◉ Ram Sutar, a renowned artist and sculptor, is credited with creating the 19-foot statue known as the Statue of Equality, according to the Ambedkar International Center (AIC), the project’s organizer.
◉ He also built the Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. On 13 acres of property in Accokeek City, Maryland, is the statue of Ambedkar, a crucial figure in the creation of the Indian Constitution.
◉ On April 14, 2023, India commemorated Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar’s 132nd birthday as Ambedkar Jayanti.

3. In September, the GST collection reached 1.62 trillion.
◉ In September, the central and state governments received Rs 1,62,712 crore in goods and services tax (GST), which was a 10% increase from the same time last year and the fourth-highest monthly collection since the indirect tax system was introduced.
◉ Overall, GST receipts to date this year reflect trends in both consumption and tax administration efficiency, and they are consistent with the finance ministry’s projection of a nominal GDP growth rate of 10.5%.
◉ The central government received 63,555 crore and the states 65,235 crore after the interstate sales taxes were settled in September.
◉ The GST cess collected from expensive cars and other commodities brought in a healthy amount of 11,613 crore.

4. Amit Agrawal’s term as CEO of UIDAI is extended by the government by one year.
◉ Amit Agrawal’s tenure as CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been extended with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
◉ The extension will last for a year, beginning on November 2, 2023, and ending on November 2, 2024, or until future orders, whichever comes first.
◉ After Saurabh Garg retired on June 19, he was chosen to fill the job.
◉ Agrawal is a Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer from the 1993 batch. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur graduate Agrawal took over as the UIDAI’s new CEO in June of this year.

◉ The annual cash prize of USD 10,000 will be awarded at an international conference on number theory held at SASTRA University in Kumbakonam on December 20 and December 22.
◉ In line with the legacy of Srinivasa Ramanujan, whose revolutionary work was completed during his tragically brief life of 32 years, the SASTRA Ramanujan Prize maintains an age limit of 32 years for its recipients.

8. Combined Indo-Bangla exercise Beginning in Umroi, Meghalaya, SAMPRITI-XI
◉ In Umroi, Meghalaya, India, and Bangladesh have started a two-week military exercise with the goal of exchanging tactical tactics and promoting best practices for conducting unconventional operations.
◉ The “SAMPRITI-XI” exercise is expected to strengthen bilateral ties, promote cross-cultural understanding, and benefit both India and Bangladesh in ways that are mutually beneficial.
