2. India will erect the tallest statue of BR Ambedkar in Maryland, USA.
◉ On October 14, India will dedicate the largest statue of BR Ambedkar outside of India in Maryland, North America.
◉ Ram Sutar, a renowned artist and sculptor, is credited with creating the 19-foot statue known as the Statue of Equality, according to the Ambedkar International Center (AIC), the project’s organizer.
◉ He also built the Sardar Patel statue in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad. On 13 acres of property in Accokeek City, Maryland, is the statue of Ambedkar, a crucial figure in the creation of the Indian Constitution.
◉ On April 14, 2023, India commemorated Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar’s 132nd birthday as Ambedkar Jayanti.

3. In September, the GST collection reached 1.62 trillion.
◉ In September, the central and state governments received Rs 1,62,712 crore in goods and services tax (GST), which was a 10% increase from the same time last year and the fourth-highest monthly collection since the indirect tax system was introduced.

4. Amit Agrawal’s term as CEO of UIDAI is extended by the government by one year.
◉ Amit Agrawal’s tenure as CEO of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has been extended with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
◉ The extension will last for a year, beginning on November 2, 2023, and ending on November 2, 2024, or until future orders, whichever comes first.
◉ After Saurabh Garg retired on June 19, he was chosen to fill the job.
◉ Agrawal is a Chhattisgarh cadre IAS officer from the 1993 batch. Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur graduate Agrawal took over as the UIDAI’s new CEO in June of this year.
