1. Governor of Bihar signs legislation increasing reservation from 50% to 65%
◉ The “Bihar Reservation Amendment Bill,” which was authorized by the State Government and unanimously ratified by the State Legislature during the just finished winter session, was signed into law by Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
◉ The State Cabinet gave its approval on November 7, increasing from 50% to 65% the reservation quota for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward, and Extremely Backward Classes.
2. The UP government started the “Every Right for Every Child” initiative.
◉ The “Every Right for Every Child” program was started by the Uttar Pradesh government to guarantee equal opportunity for all children.
◉ The “equality and inclusion” program, spearheaded by Power Angel and Bal Sansad, is included in regular school activities in primary, upper primary, and Kasturba Gandhi schools.
