1. Rajnath Singh unveils a grievance management tool powered by artificial intelligence.

  • In New Delhi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a grievance management software powered by artificial intelligence. The system was created with the help of IIT-Kanpur and the Ministry of Defence.
  • This is the government’s first Artificial Intelligence-based system for improving grievance redress. Repeat complaints or spam can be detected automatically by the system.

2. In Bengaluru, Karnataka’s Chief Minister introduces an electric bike taxi scheme.

  • In Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa unveiled the Electric Bike Taxi service. The plan will create jobs and act as a link between public transportation and daily commuters. It is environmentally friendly and promotes fuel conservation.
  • The scheme’s major goal, according to the Chief Minister, is to reduce the amount of time and annoyance people have to go from their homes to bus stops, train stations, and metro stations.

3. The government of Andhra Pradesh has signed MoUs with 14 more enterprises to assist women in business.

  • The State government exchanged MoUs with 14 enterprises with the goal of permanently empowering and providing livelihood to six lakh women through the YSR Cheyutha scheme.
  • The State government hopes to create a favourable business environment through the MoUs by providing end-to-end solutions such as capital support, market linkages, skill enhancement, and technical assistance, thereby empowering women and ensuring a sustainable income on an individual and collective level.

4. T-Hub has partnered with the Atal Innovation Mission to help India’s healthtech industry thrive.

  • T-Hub, India’s first innovation ecosystem, has announced a collaboration with NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the healthcare sector.
  • T-Hub is launching a three-month cohort-based programme called AIC T-Hub Foundation as part of this cooperation, which is exclusively for deep tech businesses developing new-age solutions in the field of life sciences and healthcare.

5. Gurugram is home to India’s first ‘Grain ATM.’

  • Consumers in Gurugram will no longer have to line for extended periods of time or worry about shopkeepers giving them less rations, as India’s first ‘Grain ATM’ has been installed as a test project in the region.
  • Dushyant Chautala, Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister, said that with the installation of Grain ATMs, all issues about waiting times and incorrect ration quantity measurement will be resolved.

6. Rajasthan and the World Food Programme have teamed up to develop the Targeted Public Distribution System.

  • The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in India has partnered with the Rajasthan government to develop the state’s Targeted Public Distribution System (TDPS).
  • The agreement includes, among other things, the use of digitisation, data aggregation, and performance dashboards for TDPS monitoring, resulting in a real-time and long-term solution to improve millions’ food and nutritional security.

7. PM Narendra Modi opens the ‘Rudraksh’ conference centre in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened a state-of-the-art convention centre in Varanasi, his parliamentary constituency, saying it will become a popular conference venue and bring tourists and businesspeople to the area.
  • The worldwide collaboration and convention centre, dubbed “Rudraksh,” features 108 Rudraksha at its heart. Its ceiling is in the shape of a Shiva Linga.
  • The two-story edifice, which sits on 2.87 hectares of ground in the Sigra district, has a seating capacity of 1,200 people. The Japan International Cooperation Agency assisted in the construction of the convention centre.

8. Cabinet approves a five-year extension of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for the development of infrastructure facilities for the judiciary.

  • The Union Cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved the extension of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) for Development of Infrastructure Facilities for the Judiciary for another five years, from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2026, at a cost of Rs.9000 crore, of which the Central share will be Rs.5357 crore, including Rs.50 crore for the Gram Nyayalayas Scheme and its implementation.

9. Narayan Rane, the Minister of MSME, has launched two new Khadi products.

  • Narayan Rane, the Minister of MSME, introduced two new Khadi products in New Delhi: Khadi Babywear and Unique Handmade Paper Use and Throw Slippers. Khadi’s first cotton apparel for babies is among the new items.
  • Khadi and Village Industries Commission, KVIC has used 100 per cent hand-spun and handwoven cotton fabric that is soft on the tender and sensitive skin of the children and prevents them from any rashes or skin irritation. For the first time in India, Khadi’s handmade paper and throw slippers have been invented. These eco-friendly and cost-effective handmade paper shoes are constructed entirely of recycled materials.

10. To manage railway assets, the NCRTC is constructing an integrated real-time system.

  • The National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is creating an integrated real-time enterprise management system to bring digital transformation to the way rail assets are managed in the country (iDREAMS).
  • The iDREAMS system, which aims to revolutionise the rail sector, will assist in predicting, identifying, correcting, or removing any dangers or flaws associated with its vast variety of assets, ensuring commuter safety and the enjoyment of a hassle-free, comfortable travel to their destination.

11. In collaboration with NABARD and NCDC, IFFCO Kisan Sanchar is establishing 17 FPOs in Gujarat.

  • Across collaboration with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and the National Cooperative Development Corporation, IFFCO Kisan Sanchar Ltd, a subsidiary of IFFCO, is establishing 17 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) in Gujarat (NCDC).
  • According to IFFCO Kisan, 5,000 farmers will be affiliated with these FPOs by the end of this year, and more than 50,000 farmers by 2025.

13. IAHE signs a memorandum of understanding with the University of New South Wales in Australia to establish the Centre for Advanced Transportation Technology and Systems in Noida.

  • The Indian Academy of Highway Engineers, IAHE, has signed an agreement with the University of New South Wales in Australia to establish a Centre for Advanced Transportation Technology and Systems in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
  • The agreement is for a project to build capacity, transfer technology, and create an enabling environment for the IAHE to establish a Center for Advanced Transportation Technology and Systems.

14. A government school in K’taka will be the first in the country to create a satellite.

  • The government boys high school in Malleshwaram’s Stone Building College would be the country’s first government high school to establish a satellite.
  • The school’s students will participate in a programme to build 75 satellites as part of the country’s 75th Independence Day celebrations, which will take place next year. The satellite will be designed and built at the school with the help of students from a few other government schools.

15. Cabinet adopts a coking coal cooperation agreement with Russia.

  • The Union Cabinet has approved an agreement between India and Russia on coking coal cooperation, a critical steel-making raw material for which domestic producers are still reliant on imports from a small number of countries. Imports account for approximately 85% of India’s coking coal requirement.
  • India’s partnership with Russia will help it lessen its reliance on far-flung countries for coking coal, such as Australia, South Africa, Canada, and the United States.

16. The United Arab Emirates is the first Gulf country to open an embassy in Israel.

  • Nearly a year after the two countries inked an agreement to normalise diplomatic relations, the United Arab Emirates became the first Gulf country to open an embassy in Israel.
  • The new purpose is housed within the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.

17. China has started work on the world’s first commercial compact modular reactor.

  • The Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant in China’s Hainan Province has officially started construction of the world’s first commercial modular compact reactor, dubbed “Linglong One.”
  • The Linglong One multipurpose small modular reactor (SMR) – also known as the ACP100 – was the first of its kind to be approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 2016. The ACP100 has a 125,000-kilowatt-hour power generation capacity.

18. One of the world’s largest floating solar panel farms has been unveiled in Singapore.

  • One of the world’s largest floating solar panel farms, which can generate enough electricity to run the island’s five water treatment plants, was presented in Singapore. The initiative is part of the country’s efforts to reach a goal of quadrupling solar energy generation by 2025 to aid in climate change mitigation.

19. As part of the GST compensation package, the Centre has released Rs 75,000 crore to states.

  • To compensate for the revenue shortage caused by the GST implementation, the government borrowed and distributed Rs 75,000 crore to the states.
  • The sum issued, according to the Finance Ministry, is roughly half of the Rs 1.59 lakh crore that the Centre pledged to borrow in the current fiscal and pass on to the states and union territories on a back-to-back basis to cover their resource gap.

20. Dr Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar Urban Co-op Bank’s licence has been revoked by the RBI.

  • Dr Shivajirao Patil Nilangekar Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, Nilanga, Latur, has had its licence revoked by the RBI because it lacks sufficient capital and earnings possibilities.
  • If the bank is allowed to continue operating as a bank, the public interest will be harmed, according to the RBI.

21. The CCEA has approved the LIC disinvestment; a panel led by the FM will determine the size of the share sale.

  • The disinvestment of the country’s largest insurer, LIC, has been approved by the Union Cabinet, and a panel led by the finance minister will now decide on the amount of stake dilution.

23. ISRO successfully completed the third test of the Vikas Engine, which will be used to launch the Gaganyaan Mission.

24. Suzhou will host the Sudirman Cup Finals in badminton in 2023.

  • Suzhou, China has been given the hosting rights for the Sudirman Cup Finals 2023, according to the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The World Mixed Team Championships were scheduled to take place in Suzhou in 2021, but due to BWF’s inability to hold any tournaments in China this year, the event was moved to Vantaa, Finland.
  • The Sudirman Cup will now be held in Suzhou in 2023, with the original hosts, India, accepting the option to host the World Championships in 2026.

25. Babar Azam surpasses Hashim Amla as the fastest player to 14 ODI hundreds.

28. Surekha Sikri, a National Award-winning actress, has died.
