1. With a budget of over Rs 11,000 crore, the Cabinet approved the implementation of the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oil Palm.
- The Union Cabinet has approved the start of a new oil palm mission called the National Mission on Edible Oils – Oil Palm (NMEO-OP). It would be a new Centrally Sponsored Scheme with a special focus on the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and the North East region.
- Mr Tomar stated that the scheme has a financial outlay of 11,040 crore rupees, with the government of India contributing 8,844 crore rupees and the state contributing 2,196 crore rupees.
2. The Uttar Pradesh government plans to construct an ATS training centre in Deoband.
- The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to establish an Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commando training centre in Deoband, Saharanpur, which is famous for its Islamic seminary Darul Uloom Deoband.
- According to officers, 2,000 square metres of property have been purchased for the Deoband unit, which is one of several planned in addition to the existing ATS centre in Lucknow.

International News
4. In the South China Sea, India’s and Vietnam’s navies conduct a bilateral maritime exercise.
- The Indian and Vietnamese fleets conducted a bilateral maritime exercise in the South China Sea, according to the Indian navy.
- As a result, the Indian Naval Ships (INS) Ranvijay and Kora participated in a bilateral maritime exercise with the Vietnamese People’s Navy frigate VPNS Ly Thai To (HQ-012).
5. In Bahrain, the INS Kochi will take part in a four-day Maritime Partnership Exercise.
- INS Kochi is currently stationed in Bahrain as part of its Persian Gulf deployment. The ship will take part in the Maritime Partnership Exercise, which will last four days.

6. For a DIY Digital Repayment platform, Kotak Mahindra Bank has partnered with Creditas Solutions.
- In collaboration with Creditas Solutions, Kotak Mahindra Bank has launched a safe, self-service digital repayment platform for missed loan payments.
- The Neo Collections platform will use artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to provide a personalised and non-intrusive experience, allowing consumers to manage their dues on their own through a simple payback platform.
7. India’s first swaption deals are signed by ICICI, HSBC, and Standard Chartered.
- ICICI Bank, HSBC, and Standard Chartered Bank have cut the first swaption transactions two years after the RBI approved them, providing borrowers with new risk management tools in rapidly changing interest rate conditions.
- In a rising rate scenario, the ‘swaption’ interest-rate derivative product lets both local borrowers and investors control funding costs while retaining investment returns in a falling rate scenario. The Reserve Bank of India set guidelines for ‘swaption’ deals in June of this year.
8. IndoSpace Logistics Fund receives around Rs 550 crore in debt backing from the World Bank’s IFC.
- IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, has provided $75 million in financing support to IndoSpace, a developer of industrial real estate and logistics parks, to create logistics and industrial parks with the goal of improving India’s warehousing and supply chain infrastructure.
- The loan is being extended by the development financial institution to IndoSpace Logistics Parks III LP, a $580 million vintage fund, with the first tranche already disbursed to IndoSpace.

9. The USOF has signed a deal with BSNL to provide high-speed internet connection to the states in the North East.
- Universal Service Obligation Fund USOF has signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited BSNL for the hire of 10 Gbps international bandwidth for Internet Connectivity to Agartala from Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited BSCCL Bangladesh through Cox Bazar and Kuakata in order to provide high-quality and high-speed internet access to the states of the country’s North Eastern region.
10. For the first time, TCS’ market capitalization exceeds Rs 13 lakh crore.
- Tata Consultancy Services has crossed the Rs 13-lakh-crore milestone in market valuation, becoming only the second company in India to do so after Reliance Industries, seventeen years after selling its stock for the first time in a comparatively late public debut.
