1. The Ministry of Law and Justice has launched the “Ek Pahal” campaign, which aims to bring justice to people’s doorsteps.
- The Ministry of Law and Justice’s Department of Justice has launched the “Ek Pahal /” campaign to encourage broad Tele-Law registration.
- The use of communications and information technology for the transmission of legal information and advice is referred to as tele-law. Through the Common Services Center, the Department of Justice has worked with NALSA and CSC e-Governance Service India Limited to mainstream legal aid to marginalised populations (CSC).
2. For Indian start-ups and tech entrepreneurs, MyGov has launched the Planetarium Innovation Challenge.
- The Planetarium Innovation Challenge for Indian start-ups and tech entrepreneurs has been announced by MyGov India, which is part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
- The contest aims to bring Indian startups and tech entrepreneurs together to develop cutting-edge technologies for planetariums.
3. IIT Delhi is working on a system that generates electricity from water droplets and can be used to power small electronic devices.

4. The Centre has formed a Group of Ministers (GoM) to improve the execution of initiatives for SC, ST, OBC, minorities, and women; Rajnath Singh is the head of the group.

8. In Bengaluru, Kotak Mahindra Bank has partnered with IISc to establish an AI-ML Center.
- The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd have announced a cooperation to establish a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI-ML) Centre on the IISc campus.
- The Centre, which is part of KMBL’s CSR project on Education and Livelihood, will also encourage AI and machine learning research and development, as well as build a talent pool from throughout the country to supply cutting-edge solutions to satisfy industry’s emerging and future needs.
9. The Cabinet has approved a government guarantee of Rs 30,600 crore for failing banks.
- According to finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Cabinet has approved a proposal to grant a Rs 30,600 crore government guarantee for security receipts issued by the National Asset Reconstruction Company (NARCL) as part of the resolution of bad loans.

10. As a result of an inquiry into ‘data juggling,’ the World Bank has decided to stop publishing its ‘ease of doing business’ report.
- Following an examination spurred by internal reports of “data irregularities” in its 2018 and 2020 editions (published in 2017 and 2019, respectively) and probable “ethical matters” involving bank staff, the World Bank announced it will stop publishing Doing Business reports.
- According to a report by the Washington-based law firm WilmerHale, World Bank employees manipulated data on China to enhance the country’s ease of doing business ranking.
11. Deadline to link PAN-Aadhaar extended by six months till March 2022
- The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has once again announced an extension in the deadline to link PAN with biometric ID Aadhaar.
- The deadline has been extended by six months till March 31, 2022. Earlier this date was extended till September 30, 2021.

12. As CTO, Amit Saxena has joined the RBI Innovation Hub.
- Amit Saxena, the State Bank of India’s Global Deputy Chief Technology Officer, has joined the RBI Innovation Hub as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

13. Alka Nangia Arora takes over as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. Alka Nangia Arora, a 1991-batch Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS) officer, has taken on the additional charge of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of National Small Industries Corporation Ltd. (NSIC). She talked with NSIC’s senior officers and conducted an audit of the company’s operations.
- Alka Nangia Arora is a 30-year industry veteran who has worked in a variety of activities around the country. She presently works at the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises as a Joint Secretary.
14. Indu Malhotra, a retired judge, has been appointed as the new Ombudsman and Ethics Officer by the DDCA.
- Justice Indu Malhotra, a former Supreme Court of India judge, has been named as the Ombudsman and Ethics Officer by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). At the Annual General Meeting, the decision was made (AGM).
- The Supreme Court selected Malhotra as a senior advocate in 2007, making her only the second woman to get the honour after a three-decade wait.

15. At the 60th National Athletics Championships, Harmilan Kaur Bains smashes a 19-year-old 1500m record.
- Harmilan Kaur Bains of Punjab set a new national record in the women’s 1500m race at the 60th National Open Athletics Championships in Warangal on September 16, 2021, by clocking 4:05.39 to win gold in the women’s 1500m event.
- With this performance, the 23-year-old athlete has broken Sunita Rani’s 19-year-old record in the 1500m at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, clocking 4:06.03.

16. Yuriy Sedykh, a two-time Olympic hammer gold medalist, has died.
- World Athletics announced that Yuriy Sedykh, the world hammer throw record holder and two-time Olympic champion, died at the age of 66.
- Sedykh, who competed for the Soviet Union, won gold at the 1976 and 1980 Olympics, as well as his only world medal at the 1991 championships in Tokyo, when he was 36 years old. At the 1986 European Championships, he set a world record with an 86.74 metre throw.
