1. In Leh, Ladakh, the world’s largest Khadi National Flag was raised.
- On October 2, 2021, the world’s largest national flag, made of Khadi cloth, was unveiled in Leh, Ladakh, to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s 152nd birthday.
- The Khadi national flag was inaugurated by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur.
2. Chacha Chaudhary has been named the official mascot of the Namami Gange Mission by the government.
- Chacha Chaudhary, an iconic Indian comic book character whose brain is faster than a computer, has been named the official mascot for the centrally-sponsored NamamiGangeProgram.
- The project has received a funding of Rs. 2.26 crore. The comics will initially be launched in Hindi, English and Bengali languages.
3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the Jal Jeevan Mission App and the Rashtriya Jal Jeevan Kosh.
- On October 2, 2021, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually launched the Jal Jeevan Mission App and Rashtriya Jal Jeevan Kosh, as part of the flagship Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), which was launched in 2019.
- The Jal Jeevan Mission App was created to raise awareness among stakeholders and to increase transparency and accountability of the Mission’s schemes.
4. In October 2021, Union Minister Anurag Thakur will kick off a month-long nationwide “Clean India Program.”
- As part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has launched a month-long Clean India Program from October 1 to October 31, 2021.

5. The VAYO NAMAN Program is run by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment for senior citizens.
- On October 1, 2021, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment hosted the VAYO NAMAN Program in New Delhi to commemorate the International Day of Older Persons.
- As part of the event, Vice President Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu presented older folks with Vayoshreshtha Samman-2021 and dedicated Elderly Line 14567 to the nation.
6. From Red Fort, Union Minister Amit Shah flags off the NSG’s “Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama” automobile rally.
- On October 02, 2021, Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah started off the National Security Guard’s (NSG) All India Car Rally “Sudarshan Bharat Parikrama” as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” to commemorate India’s 75th year of independence.
- The famous Red Fort in Delhi served as the starting point for the NSG’s vehicle rally. It will be held at the Police Memorial in New Delhi until October 30, 2021.
7. To commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, DAY-NRLM dedicates 50,000 Women SHG members as Business Correspondents.
- From September 24 to 30, 2021, the Ministry of Rural Development’s Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) will commemorate the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
- As part of the commemoration, DAY-NRLM has launched a programme called “One GP, One B C Sakhi,” in which 50,000 women SHG members would dedicate themselves to the nation as Business Correspondents (BC) Sakhi in rural areas for a week, delivering basic financial services.
8. Kangana Ranaut has been named as the brand ambassador for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s “One District-One Product” scheme.
- The Uttar Pradesh administration, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has appointed Kangana Ranaut as the brand ambassador for the state’s ambitious “One District One Product (ODOP) initiative.”
- The one district, one product (ODOP) programme was developed by the Uttar Pradesh government with the goal of creating product-specific traditional industrial clusters across the state’s 75 districts. The programme promotes unique, indigenous, and specialised products and crafts from the state of Uttar Pradesh.

9. Stellapps and Airtel Payments Bank have partnered to provide small dairy producers with digital financial transfers.
- Stellapps, a dairy-tech start-up, has partnered with Airtel Payments Bank to provide small dairy farmers with digital payment transfers.
- Through its mooPay fintech platform, Stellapps aims to increase financial inclusion for dairy producers by providing holistic financial management services across the dairy value chain.
- It has been working closely with dairies and their milk collection centres to make direct payments to dairy producers’ bank accounts possible.

10. India loses in the final to Russia, but wins the first-ever medal at the World Women’s Chess Championship.
- India finished second in the FIDE World Women’s Team Chess Championship after losing 0-2 to Russia in the final.
- The Indians were trounced 3-1 in the second match after losing the first 1.5.-2-5 despite a great win for D Harika on the board. A powerful Russian team raced to a title triumph.
