AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test) Coaching Centre

AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) is conducted by Indian Air force twice in each calendar year (usually in February and September) for commissioning of Officers (both Men & Women) to various branches of the Indian Air Force. Officers entering through AFCAT would be eligible for the following branches:

(a) Flying Branch (Only Short Service Commission i.e 14 years)

(b) Technical Branch (Both Permanent and Short Service Commission)

(c) Ground Duty Branch (Both Permanent and Short Service Commission)

For candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by Director General Civil Aviation (DGCA) the upper age limit has been relaxed to 26 years

Minimum score of 60% in both Mathematics & Physics in 12th grade

Minimum score of 60% for Graduates in any discipline from any recognized University OR BE/B/Tech (4 year course) with a minimum score of 60% from any recognized University

Should have cleared section A & B examination conducted by Membership of Institute Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India

Students from Final Year are also eligible to apply, provided, they do not have any backlog at the time of AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) Testing and are able to produce the required Degrees Certificates as per the stipulated dates

Minimum Height of 162.5 cms (5.33 ft) with corresponding weight

Minimum Vision of 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other eye

AFCAT Selection Process

Graduates desirous of entering the Indian Air Force need to appear for AFCAT or Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) applicable only for Technical Branch. Post clearing of the examination the successful candidates is then called for the following:

  • Screening Test
  • Psychological Testing
  • Group Test
  • Interview
  • Medical Test
  • Computerised Pilot Selection System (this has replaced the erstwhile PABT) for Flying Branch ONLY
