Every year, NICL organises NICL exam to recruit administrative officer for its department. Thousands of candidates apply for NICL Exam every year with a dream to join the prestigious post of Administrative Officer in this reputed Organization.

NICLJob Profile

An Administrative Officer in NICL acts as the First Officer. It is a totally authoritative post where decision making is involved. An AO is expected to a variety of work, however, majority of the work involves Claim Settlements, Underwriting, Risk Assessment and Supervision of Assistants work. Sometimes the AOs are entrusted upon to verify the risk proposals and authorization of claims.

Being an authoritative job, an AO can assign and delegate the work to his team and oversee their performance. Being in the insurance sector, majority of the work involves work related to insurance policies, including but not limited to, health, motor vehicles, industrial, accident, fire however, the job role varies as per the requirement of the department or branch in particular.

NICL Exam Pattern

NICL selection process for the Administrative officer exam 2018 consists of 3 stages, which are:

  1. Preliminary Examination
  2. Main Examination
    • Objective Test
    • Descriptive Test
  3. Personal Interview

While the Prelims is of qualifying nature, the Mains exam & Interview will account for your final selection.

Phase I – Prelims Exam

Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Test for 100 marks will be conducted online. The test will have of 3 Sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

Phase II – Mains Exam

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after completion of the Objective Test.

Descriptive Test:

The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with two questions for 30 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).The Descriptive English Test will be conducted only through online mode. Questions will be displayed on the screen of the computer. Answers are to be typed using the keyboard. Before start of typing answers to questions in Descriptive Paper please check all key functions of the keyboard.

*Note:Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination)

There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

Phase – III: Interview:

Candidates who have been shortlisted based on online Phase – II (mains examination) will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Company. Interview will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter.

Final Selection :

The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the online main examination(Objective and Descriptive Section) and interview. The weightage (ratio) of online Main Examination and Interview will be 80:20 respectively.
