1. ‘Indrayani Medicity,’ India’s first medical city, is set to open in Pune.
◉ Maharashtra’s state government has announced plans to build India’s first medical city, dubbed “Indrayani Medicity,” in Pune, to provide all forms of specialist treatment under one roof.
◉ It will be built on 300 acres of land in Pune’s Khed Taluka. The project is expected to bring in more than Rs 10,000 crores in investment.
2. The first Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal in India was inaugurated on the Eastern Railway’s Asansol Division.
◉ In the Eastern Railway’s Asansol division, the first ‘Gati Shakti’ cargo terminal of Indian Railways was inaugurated. The cargo service is estimated to increase monthly railway earnings by about Rs 11 crore.
◉ In accordance with the Prime Minister’s vision of Gati Shakti and the Ministry of Railways’ policy on the ‘Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal,’ Indian Railways’ Asansol division has successfully commissioned a private siding of Maithan Power in Thaparnagar, Jharkhand (GCT).

3. In 2021, India was ranked second in the world for digital shopping investment, with Bengaluru topping the list of cities.

4. Katalin Novak was elected Hungary’s first female president.
◉ Katalin Novak, a close supporter of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, has been voted as Hungary’s first female president by the Hungarian parliament.
◉ Novak, who was most recently a minister for family policy, touted her victory as a win for women. Novak will succeed Janos Ader, a co-founder of Orban’s ruling Fidesz party who has served as prime minister since 2012. After Ader’s term ends on May 10, she will take over.

5. Paytm Payments Bank has been ordered by the RBI to halt onboarding new users.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has ordered Paytm Payments Bank to halt fresh client onboarding.
◉ A complete System Audit of the bank’s IT system has also been ordered. This action is being taken in response to some serious supervisory concerns that have been raised within the bank. The decision was made by the RBI using its authority under Section 35A of the Banking Regulation Act of 1949.
6. The Reserve Bank of India has relaxed restrictions on HDFC Bank’s planned business-generating operations under the Digital 2.0 program.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has eased the limits that had been imposed on HDFC Bank’s new digital launches.
◉ After continuous disruptions at the lender’s data center, the central bank imposed the restrictions in December 2020. The restrictions prevented HDFC Bank from initiating any of the Digital 2.0 program’s activities, including the issuance of new credit cards.

7. The Chairperson of the National Financial Reporting Authority, Ajay Bhushan Pandey, has been appointed.
◉ Ajay Bhushan Pandey, former Finance and Revenue Secretary of India, Ministry of Finance, has been selected as the new Chairperson of the National Financial Reporting Authority by the Government of India (GoI) (NFRA).
◉ His appointment has been accepted by the Cabinet Appointments Committee (ACC) for a term of three years from the date of assumption of duty or until he reaches the age of 65.
8. The Acting Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court is Justice Vipin Sanghi.
◉ According to Article 223 of the Indian Constitution, the President of India has named Justice Vipin Sanghi, the senior-most judge on the Delhi High Court, as Acting Chief Justice.
◉ On March 11, 2022, the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice (MoL&J) announced his appointment. Justice Dhirubhai Naranbhai Patel, the current Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, will retire on March 12, 2022, on his 62nd birthday.

◉ Former DFS Secretary Debasish Panda, a retired IAS officer, has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), the insurance regulator, by the Cabinet Appointments Committee, initially for a period of three years from the date of assumption of charge.
◉ Since Subhash Chandra Khuntia’s term ended in May 2021, the position of Chairman of the IRDAI has been vacant. After a two-year term as financial services secretary, Panda, a 1987-batch IAS officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, retired in January this year.

◉ Daisy Rockwell translated the book from its original Japanese title, ‘Ret Samadhi.’ It will vie for a reward of GBP 50,000, which will be split equally between the author and the translator.
