1. Odisha has signed a memorandum of understanding with BPCL for the development of a renewable energy plant and a green hydrogen facility.
◉ The Odisha government and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) signed a five-year memorandum of understanding to build a renewable energy plant and a green hydrogen facility that will provide consumers with round-the-clock (RTC) power for both domestic and export consumption.
◉ Odisha is India’s largest steel producer, accounting for 33 percent of all steel production.
2. The Dalai Lama’s Central Tibetan Relief Committee received a relief package worth Rs 40 crore from the Centre.
◉ The Union government has extended the scheme to pay the Dalai Lama’s Central Tibetan Relief Committee (CTRC) with Rs 40 crore in grants-in-aid for another five years, from 2021-22 to 2025-26.
◉ For the fiscal year 2021-22, an allocation of Rs 8 crore has been allocated to CTRC. The Central government issued a new policy for Tibetan refugees in 2015, authorizing a scheme to provide a grant-in-aid of Rs 40 crore to the Tibetan Refugee Council (CTRC) for five years to cover the administrative and social welfare expenses of 36 Tibetan settlement offices around the country.
3. In Leh, Ladakh, India’s first Community Museum was opened in the Gya-Sasoma settlements.
◉ The Community Museum in Gya – Sasoma villages of Leh district in Ladakh was launched by Tashi Gyaltson, Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, LAHDC, Leh. This is India’s first museum of its sort.
◉ The National Museum Institute (NMI) in New Delhi, Delhi, and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) in Leh, Ladakh collaborated on the Community Museum.

4. Climate action grants of $2.2 million have been announced by the UNDP for entrepreneurs.
◉ The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and AIM partners have announced $2.2 million in climate action funding for 22 local entrepreneurs from 19 countries, including India.
◉ The first round of funding for the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA) window will strengthen local climate action and accelerate the accomplishment of the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

5. The Asian Development Bank has approved 551 crores for three projects in Agartala.
◉ The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a $76.25 million (Rs 551 crore) loan for three projects under the Agartala Smart City Limited (ASCL).
◉ In the current financial year, the ADB agreed to fund 23 kilometres of the road by retrofitting 15 stretches at a cost of Rs 444 crore, revive lakes and water bodies of Maharaja Bir Bikram College and its adjoining areas at a cost of Rs 30.67 crore, and renovate and restore Ujjayanta Palace and its environs at a cost of Rs 35.68 crore.

6. Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, has been re-appointed.
◉ Iqbal Singh Lalpura, a retired Punjab-cadre IPS officer, has been re-appointed as the chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities by the federal government.
◉ Lalpura, who took over as chairman in September of last year, had to retire in December in order to run for the BJP in the Ropar assembly constituency, which he lost.
7. India’s G20 Chief Coordinator, Harsh V Shringla, has been appointed.
◉ Harsh V Shringla, India’s current Foreign Secretary, has been named the country’s Chief G20 Coordinator.

◉ The 14th of April is designated as World Chagas Sickness Day to improve public awareness and attention about Chagas Disease (also known as American trypanosomiasis or silent or silent disease) and the resources required for its prevention, control, or elimination.
◉ Because the majority of those affected have no or very moderate symptoms, it is commonly referred to as a “silent and silent disease.” Chagas disease affects roughly 6-7 million individuals worldwide, resulting in 10,000 fatalities per year.
