1. The Secretariat for India’s G20 Presidency has been approved by the Union Cabinet.
- The establishment of a G20 Secretariat and associated reporting mechanisms was agreed by the Union Cabinet, which is chaired by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. From December 1, 2022, until November 30, 2023, India will serve as the G20 (Group of Twenty) President.
- This Secretariat, which will be in place until February 2024, will be in charge of putting broad policy decisions and affairs in place for India’s G20 presidency. The G20 Summit will be held in New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan in 2023.
2. For the fiscal years 2022-2027, the government has approved the ‘New India Literacy Programme,’ a new adult education scheme.
- During the fiscal years 2022-2027, the Union Government established a new plan called “New India Literacy Programme” to cover all elements of adult education and to align with the national education policy 2020.
- The programme will benefit nonliterates in the country who are 15 years old or older. In the country, the government has replaced the term “Adult Education ()” with “Education for All.”
3. In five states, the Centre has approved the construction of 60,000 dwellings under the PMAY(U) programme.
- During the 58th meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee, the Central Government of India approved project proposals for the construction of over 60,000 houses in five states, including Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) (CSMC).
- Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, presided over the virtual meeting (MoHUA).

- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has extended the deadline for non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) to comply with new Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) categorization rules from March 2022 to September 2022 (the norms will be released by RBI in November 2021).
- According to the RBI’s ‘Prudential Rules on Income Recognition, Asset Classification, and Provisioning related to Advances – Clarifications,’ loan accounts categorised as nonperforming assets (NPAs) can only be changed to’standard’ assets if the borrower pays all interest and principal arrears.
7. Ezetap has partnered with Kotak Mahindra Bank to provide integrated point-of-sale solutions.
- Ezetap has partnered with Kotak Mahindra Bank to provide comprehensive Point of Sale (PoS) solutions to 4,000 sites across India.
