1. Telangana was the first Indian state to apply the Crop Diversification Index.
◉ Telangana was the first state in India to use the Crop Diversification Index (CDI) to track crop diversification patterns.
◉ Telangana grows 77 different types of crops, according to the CDI, but only 10 of them (mainly grains) are chosen for crop diversification. Nirmal, Vikarabad, and Sangareddy are the most diversified districts in the state, placing in the top three.
2. ‘Dol Utsav’ or ‘Dol Jatra’ was celebrated in West Bengal.
◉ The festival of colors, known as ‘Dol Utsav’ or ‘Dol Jatra,’ was held in West Bengal to mark the start of the spring season.
◉ The celebration is held on full moon day and is dedicated to Lord Krishna and Radha. According to the Bengali calendar, it is also the concluding festival of the year.
3. The Visakhapatnam Railway Station was the first on the East Coast to utilize the ‘One Nation, One Product’ concept.
◉ The Government of India’s ‘One Nation, One Product’ concept will be piloted for 15 days at Visakhapatnam Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh.

4. The United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network published the 10th edition of the World Happiness Report 2022, which rated India 136th and Finland first. Finland topped the list for the fifth time in a row in the 10th edition of the World Happiness Report.
◉ In the United Nations’ World Happiness Report for the year 2022, India has climbed three places to 136th place (from 146th previous year).
5. In Antananarivo, Madagascar, the Mahatma Gandhi Green Triangle was inaugurated.
◉ As part of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,’ a “Green Triangle” named after Mahatma Gandhi was inaugurated in Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital city.
◉ India’s Ambassador to Madagascar, Abhay Kumar, and the Mayor of Antananarivo, Naina Andriantsitohaina, jointly opened the Mahatma Gandhi Green Triangle.

6. Sri Lanka will receive a USD 1 billion line of credit from SBI to help them recover from its economic turmoil.
◉ As part of its financial aid to Sri Lanka to deal with its economic crisis, SBI announced a USD 1 billion Line of Credit (LOC).
◉ SBI and the Government of Sri Lanka signed an agreement to extend the LOC for the acquisition of food, medicine, and other vital supplies.
7. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has unveiled a standardized framework for microfinance lenders.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India has announced the ‘RBI (Regulatory Framework for Microfinance Loans) Directions, 2022’ framework for microfinance loans.
◉ The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has instructed Regulated Entities (REs) to guarantee that loans are collateral-free and not secured by a lien on the borrower’s deposit account, that repayment responsibilities are capped, that interest rates are not usurious, and that there is no pre-payment penalty.
8. India’s GDP is expected to grow at 9.1% in CY22, according to Moody’s.
◉ Due to the negative consequences of the Russia-Ukraine conflict on the global economy, Moody’s has lowered India’s economic growth prediction by 40 basis points to 9.1% in Calendar Year 2022 (CY2022).
◉ Moody’s forecast India’s GDP in CY2022 to be 9.5 percent in February 2022. India’s GDP growth is expected to be 5.4 percent in Calendar Year (CY) 2023, according to Moody’s.
