1. N Biren Singh was sworn in as Manipur’s chief minister for the second time.
◉ N Biren Singh was sworn in as Manipur’s chief minister for the second time. In the recently ended assembly election, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) returned to power with a resounding victory.
◉ During a meeting, Singh was unanimously voted as the BJP’s legislature party’s leader. Singh played football and worked as a journalist before entering politics.
2. Haryana hosts the 35th Surajkund International Crafts Mela.
◉ The 35th edition of the world-famous Surajkund International Crafts Mela was solemnly opened at Surajkund in the Faridabad district of Haryana by Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal.
◉ From March 19 to April 4, 2022, the Surajkund International Crafts Mela is open from 12.30 pm to 9.30 pm.

3. The government has extended the deadline for businesses to convert loan financing into equity to ten years.
◉ According to DPIIT, the government has extended the deadline for companies to convert loan financing into equity shares by up to ten years.
◉ Previously, convertible notes may be changed into equity shares for a period of up to five years after they were issued. The time limit has been extended to ten years. A convertible note is a type of debt or loan product.

4. Jay Shah has been re-elected for a one-year term as President of the Asian Cricket Council.
◉ Jay Shah has been re-elected for a one-year term as President of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
◉ During the ACC’s annual general meeting, he received unanimous approval to extend his term. Shah’s extension was sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) president Shammi Silva, who received unanimous support from all ACC members.
5. TCS’s MD and CEO, Rajesh Gopinathan, has been re-appointed.
◉ The board of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has re-appointed Rajesh Gopinathan as the company’s Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a five-year term.
◉ From February 21, 2022, through February 20, 2027, he will serve his second term. TCS’s CEO and MD, Rajesh Gopinathan, was initially appointed in 2017.

◉ Suresh Raina, a former Indian cricketer, received the prestigious ‘Sports Icon’ award at the Maldives Sports Awards 2022. Raina was honored by the Maldives government for his numerous accomplishments throughout his career.
◉ He was nominated alongside 16 other athletes from around the world, including former Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos, Jamaican sprinter Asafa Powell, former Sri Lankan captain, and batsman Sanath Jayasuriya, and Dutch football icon Edgar Davids.

7. NMDC and IIT Kharagpur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Drone-Based Mineral Exploration.
◉ National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (NMDC), India’s largest iron ore producer, has inked a memorandum of understanding with IIT Kharagpur for ‘Drone-Based Mineral Exploration’ on a virtual platform.
◉ NMDC will therefore become India’s first Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) to conduct Drone-based Geophysical Surveys and Hyperspectral Studies for Mineral Exploration.

8. For the eighth time, Pankaj Advani has won the Asian Billiards Championship.
◉ Pankaj Advani, an ace Indian cueist, defeated compatriot Dhruv Sitwala 6-2 to win the 19th Asian 100 UP Billiards Championship 2022 in Doha, Qatar.
◉ It was his eighth Asian Billiards Championship triumph and his 24th international title overall. He advanced to the finals after defeating Myanmar’s Pauk Sa in the semi-final.
◉ Since 1984, the Asian Confederation of Billiard Sports has hosted the Asian Billiards Championship. Pankaj Advani won the 2019 edition of the competition as well.
9. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari won the Bahrain Grand Prix in 2022.
◉ The Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix 2022 was won by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc (Monaco) at the Bahrain International Circuit, a motor racing circuit in the west of Bahrain. It was his first win since the Italian Grand Prix in 2019.
◉ Carlos Sainz Jr. (Ferrari – Spain) finished second, while Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes – United Kingdom) finished third.

◉ Former Indian cricket captain Gundappa Ranganatha Vishwanath has written an autobiography called “Wrist Assured: An Autobiography,” which he co-wrote with prominent writer R Kaushik.
◉ The book follows Gundappa Vishwanath, who represented India in Test cricket from 1969 until 1986, making 91 appearances and scoring more than 6000 runs.
