1. The Assam Cabinet has authorized a Memorandum of Understanding with a French funding organization for biodiversity conservation.
◉ An MoU between the state’s environment and forest department and the Agence Francaise de Development (French Development Agency), a French funding agency, was accepted during an Assam Cabinet meeting headed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to enhance bilateral dialogue in the field of environment.
◉ The MoU will strengthen cooperation between the forest department and international partners from Africa, Asia, and France in the Indo-Pacific region on biodiversity conservation.
2. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has inaugurated 13 new districts in the state.
◉ On April 4, 2022, Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, inaugurated 13 new districts in the state.
◉ The original 13 districts were divided up into the new districts.
3. Tata Power Renewables has completed the installation of India’s largest single-axis tracker system at a 300MW solar facility in Gujarat.
◉ Tata Power Renewables Energy Ltd (TPREL) has completed the installation of a 300 MW single-axis solar tracker system in Dholera, Gujarat.
◉ The project will create 774 million units per year and reduce carbon emissions by 704340 MT per year. The system includes a total of 8,73,012 Monocrystalline Photovoltaic (PV) Modules.
4. Pixel, a Bengaluru-based space tech business, uses SpaceX’s Falcon-9 rocket to launch the ‘Shakuntala’ satellite.
◉ In April 2022, the Indian Spacetech startup Pixxel [Bengaluru] launched its first commercial satellite, Shakuntala.
◉ The full-fledged commercial satellite was launched from Cape Canaveral in the United States on board Elon Musk’s SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket.
◉ The launch was carried out as part of SpaceX’s Transporter-4 mission.

6. Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban was re-elected for a fourth term.

10. Lt Gen Manoj Pande is on his way to becoming the next Army Chief of Staff.
