1. The government established a 17-member committee to direct and guide the semiconductor mission, which is chaired by Ashwini Vaishnaw.
◉ The government’s Rs 76,000 crore semiconductor mission would be guided by a 17-member advisory group, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
◉ Top government officials, well-known academics, as well as industry and domain experts, will be on the panel. The Committee will be chaired by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Minister of Electronics and IT, with Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), as Vice-Chairperson.
2. D Murugesan, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, convened a 13-member team to draught the state’s education strategy.

◉ Madagascar has become the 30th country to join India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), which was announced at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in September 2019.
