3. China has successfully launched the Gaofen-3 03 Earth Observation satellite.
◉ On April 7, 2022, China successfully launched Gaofen-3 03, a new Earth observation satellite, from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre aboard a Long March-4C rocket.
◉ By building a network with the orbiting Gaofen-3 and Gaofen-3 02 satellites, the new satellite will become part of its land-sea radar satellite constellation.

5. In FY22, India’s trade deficit increased by 88 percent to $192.41 billion.
◉ India’s trade imbalance increased 87.5 percent to USD 192.41 billion in 2021-22, compared to USD 102.63 billion the previous year, according to government data.
◉ Total exports climbed to USD 417.81 billion in the previous fiscal year, while imports increased to USD 610.22 billion, resulting in a USD 192.41 billion trade deficit.
6. In 2021-22, India’s agricultural exports will surpass $50 billion for the first time.
◉ Agricultural exports from India surpassed $50 billion for the first time in the financial year 2021-22 (FY22), representing a 20 percent rise.
◉ The Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S) has issued preliminary numbers showing that agricultural exports increased by 19.92 percent to USD 50.21 billion in 2021-22.
7. The Reserve Bank of India has issued its Monetary Policy for 2022, with key rates remaining constant.

◉ As a result of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the MPC committee kept the repo rate at 4% and the reverse repo rate at 3.35 percent unchanged. For the 11th time in a row, the MPC left the repo rate steady.
